This is an unrealistic episode because by firing one shot in the dark it proves that Peter wasn't actually in any threat for his life and I don't think Rhode Island is a stand your ground state. Also the fact that Cleveland Jr. survived means Peter would be in prison like 5 days later.

The moral of the story is if you shoot them make sure they're dead without actually shooting their prone body. It's why cops are trained to fire 50 rounds a second until they hit the ground.
