Name one believable justification for the hero to cut a swath through an entire army, only to go "If I kill you I'll be just like you" once they reach the main villain.

Same shit happened in Falling Skies and it pissed me off to no end.

Mystery Alien in the final season hands a McGuffin to Tom Mason. Mason gets the McGuffin to the alien queen. All the aliens just start blowing up.
