The first live-action movie is one of the faithful comic-to-movie adaptations ever made. If I want to watch a TMNT movie in the vein of the original comics, I already have it.

They found their tone. It's not meant to be taken as seriously as they originally tried and they didn't need to make it dark to make it badass. With a more fun tone to play through the absurdity of the idea, they can now make the action more creative like it should be. Suddenly the personality of the turtles fits in now and isn't just a weird glaringly bright ray of radical on a plot that would otherwise fit in with 20 other B action movies.

Anon, you have no fucking idea how dangerous these two are in the IDW series. They're literally the strongest fucking things out there right now.

They've taken hundreds of Foot Ninja, the Turtles, Old Hobb and his Mutant Gang, and all it does is just piss them off.

Damn, somehow I'm only just now noticing Mikey's wrist bracelets and Raph's backhand padding (which the figures also cleverly gave Mikey since they're both close range combatants).

It's like that saying "the little things" except even littler. The attention to detail is impressive. Some might not think it a big deal, but consider that most are willing to accept the turtles just being recolors. For someone to go out their way to make them acceptably similar yet ever so slightly different is a testament to the term balancing act. Goldilocks character design. Just right.

Eastman had a black girlfriend and he started making April look like her at some point, even with the curly hair (which April gets after getting a perm) also other artist did whatever they wanted and some depicted her as black.

If you ask Laird he originally wanted her to be Asian but settled for her being a white woman.

TMNT vol. 1 #32 the first color version also has her with very dark skin but the recolor has her with light akin

The movie looks like ass and the CG is complete dogshit.

That being said....I have to give them 2 props for outstanding, outstanding casting jobs. Terry Perry (whom is very annoying) looks like a great and campy Baxter AND that mustache and glasses it awesome. But the biggest and best casting in the entire movie is Gary Anthony Williams. Jesus Christ do I love Gary Anthony Williams and I can see him just fucking perfectly nailing Bebop as human and mutant.
