Why does everyone want Batman to be Iron Man?

Doesn't clunky bulky armor completely go in the face of him being a shadowy urban kung fu detective? Batman is slim, quick and skilled enough to disarm you or intimidate you into missing your shot, he doesn't take it directly in the chest with his kevlar tank armor and then lumber over to you and club you over the head like a brawler.

Not power armor, but people always complain about this. They were going for realism here, and lets face it. Even if his main strategy is to use stealth and avoid direct engagements, Batman does take on people directly all the time, and he does occasionally get shot despite his best efforts. He needs body armor, period.

Again, technically not power armor, but still a commonly cited offender. He's doing his thing in the middle of a city-wide riot, and later a paramilitary invasion. Kevlar doesn't cut the mustard here.

Again, he's taking on Superman. Armor is a must

And anon, just because you can take a bullet doesn't mean you'll automatically start walking into gunfire. Batman's suit has been armored for at least a decade now. Yet his tactics haven't changed.
