Wrong term, really. By the most common definition, "hipsters" are always listening to the latest and greatest bands that you've never heard of. If there was bad feeling between them and they decided not to put anything in print for any period at all, he was responsible for that. The more likely explanation, however, is that they were a shitty blues cover band with a few songs of their own before he left, and the remaining members didn't want to confuse fans with the departure in style.

The Welch Fleetwood Mac albums were available until the mid 1990s. He sued them for back royalties and they responded by pulling all of his albums.

They Might Be Giants is one that sometimes sort of surprises me that they haven't at least got their own live action/cartoon hybrid show like The Aquabats did.

I mean most TMBG's music tends to have a vibe that suggests it would good nicely accompanied by animation.

They've got their foot in the door with Disney (not that a TMBG cartoon should necessarily be a Disney (most likely Disney XD) thing but the window of opportunity is there.

Plus, They tend to be one of the go-to bands for a lot of cartoonists. All the cards are there, the Johns just need to talk to their agent or their Disney contact about doing a show.

After the show my friend and I saw them at MTAC '07, they apparently got banned for life from the Marriott convention center. They'd apparently partied late into the night and gave liquor to some girls of questionable age which led to various customer complaints, but the room seemed perfectly fine the next day until housekeeping noticed that one of the framed pictures in the room was crooked. Upon adjusting it, they noticed that there was something behind it. Turns out someone had gone through the room graffiti-ing various expletives behind the pictures and then carefully rehung them to cover up their handiwork.
