Since people posted their OCs last thread, I figured I'd have a shot at sperging about OCs I made as well. I'm the guy who made that team with the Wolf Faunus with the electricity semblance and plasma cannon and his team.

Team AZRE (1/4)

Name: Ao Ookami Yes, I know it's a bit on the nose and weeb-ish, but when you have a guy named Yatsuhashi Daichi, all bets are fucking off.
Age: 18
Hair color: Sort of a Glaucous blue that fades to white at the tips
Eye color: Dark grey/black
Race: Wolf Faunus
Personality: Distant and standoffish to strangers, incredibly loyal to friends, finds it difficult to open up to others. Mildly competitive with other teams.
History: Former prisoner and ex-member of the White Fang. Became a Huntsman after finding a new home far away from his former prison. Had a hard time warming up to his team initially, but nowadays, treats them like family.
Likes: Hiking, sports, competitions, theatre
Dislikes: Anyone his team dislikes, the White Fang and anyone connected to them, being lied to or misled
Semblance: Ao possesses an Electricity Semblance, which allows him to control and generate large amounts of electricity to be applied in a myriad of ways, often to simply charge his weapon or any device requiring electricity to function. Other methods include extreme application of electrostatic cling to walk or run across walls, cliff-sides, and ceilings, or to create an impromptu electromagnet out of a conductive metal surface or object.
Weapon: Raijin's Judgement - A double-edged greatsword that transforms into a plasma cannon that is charged using his semblance. A plasma chamber in the hilt draws in oxygen which gets charged and superheated by Ao's Semblance to create the plasma that it fires. A pair of outer chambers containing a dust crystal in each can enlarge the beam to cover a wider area, or to focus it into a thinner beam for greater piecing power.

But you gotta realize that they're probably writing something they're familiar with writing. Everyone's gotta suck at something before they get good at it.

All the damn time. There are times when I see some of the folks on ff.net with like 30+ works and small 2k word stories with literally hundreds of followers and I admit there are days when I get a bit depressed that I'll probably never get to that level.

All you can really do is keep writing and try to develop your skill and learn what you can from others.

I haven't been writing that long, but honestly I don't really feel any anxiety over it.
I don't want to just put out shit of course, and obviously I strive to write the best I can and continue to improve, but if we're being completely honest folks here will eat up anything if it fits two criteria:
1. It features a character they like.
2. It's not shit.

That's it, you do that and you'll always have a few fans.
I mean for fuck's sake, I think I did mediocre at best on that one Yang fluff but every damn time there's a fluff request it's at the top.

I think Wolves are neat but we need a new faunus thats not just dog cat monkey based. be neat if he was a Kola faunus. He's got a kola's nose and beard. That would be cool especially if he does theater work. Electricity kinda already nora's thing . what about if his semblance altered environment to what habitat he wanted within a 20 feet radius. (he make the environment like the Predators jungle, or Ussops island that he had to train on.) and up to you, maybe for the weapon it could be a machete that transforms into a long bow that's enchanted bye his semblance to make his shots corrosive to aura armor. Still not bad for a character idea. I like it.

I always end up not liking my own work, but I still enjoy writing and enjoy reading other anons works, be it green text or full stories.

That's interesting and all, I guess. Still... I wanted to model Ao off of the japanese mythical creature, the Raiju, which is depicted as either a cat, fox, weasel, or, you guessed it, a wolf.

Y'all might want me to go with a Weasel Faunus instead if I wanted to keep a Raiju theme, but if I wanted a mythical-based Weasel Faunus, I'd base him off of a Kamaitachi. I mean, when I think of a companion animal thing to a fucking Nip lightning god, "weasel" is not the first thing to spring to mind.

See, that's why it takes forever to come up with a story cause CinderAnon/SummerAnon took awhile to format since they were greentexts (into pastebins). I read these threads but I'm still quite new at posting.

RWBY was basically the first time I ever made any OC stuff, and I wanted it to be considered well done to the point where I actually asked Monty about video games and remote controls existing and got greenlit. Pic related is also another OC of mine.

Guess I'll post my team: Team PRSM
(I'll be adopting a name for clarity)

Here's the team:

Phoneix Lofio, born in Mistral. Her semblance is Adrenaline Rush, and her weapon is a lance combined with a rapier

Roxie Hazel, born in Vacuo. She is a tiger faunus (complete with tail and ears) with her semblance being extreme agility and her weapon is a Battleaxe that separates into two SMGs

Selena Willow, from Atlas. Her semblance is Gun Manipulation and can even change change a bullet's trajectory, while her weapon is two revolvers that double as dual blades

March Tempest, from Vale. Her semblance is Pyrokinesis, and her weapon consists of two daggers connected by a chain

Criticism is much appreciated, and I will use it to make this shit better. If the names sound dumb, I'll just use the original names I came up with

Now for the personalities, I guess

Phoneix is nice to people and generally very helpful, but she can be very stubborn at times, and this can get her in trouble. Despite that, she does her best to maintian a happy relationship with the people she likes. Afraid of heights

Roxie is outgoing and adventoruous, which she chalks up to being raised in Vacuo. She's distrustful of most people as she is a faunus, but loves her teammates and her family the most. Loves to sing to herself when no one else is around

Selena is cold and uncaring to people she doesn't know, though it's more in an aloof way. She doesn't have many friends outside of her team save for two classmates she knew back in Atlas. She is always training to become stronger, though she only works out at night or whenever no one is in the gym as she prefers to be alone.

March knows little of herself, suffering from amnesia. The few things she can remember are of a family, a storm, and a man in a white cloak. Despite having amnesia, she is a very positive individual who always looks for the best in people. Doesn't like Grimm too much, especially Nevermores.

Key thing with semblances is that they are like cutie marks. they can be similar to others but never the exact same. ( march tempest's pyro is to much like cinder.) but a suggestion on tweaking this character is to change her name to Mach Tempest ( Mac for short) and her semblance would be like the Thundergun in black ops, and her daggers connect into a drum to enhance the attack.

again the first 3 are unique and have promise. The one problem I have with the last one is the amnesia card. It's very overused in social media and is more of a chore to watch the person discover who she is. Eh, I named her March because she was born in March, and really, the whole point is that her name references when she was born and is part of getting her memories back. At the very least, the semblance she will have is enhanced durability, but it requires a lot of mental energy. Also, her weapon is now dual metal wrist gauntlets that double as rifles

The question you always have to ask yourself is "Is my identity relevant right now?" Some people just put on a name because they want an identity, some people put on on because they've contributed and feel the deserve an identity, and some people only put on a name when they're contributing and otherwise stay anonymous.
