Good episode. Looking forward to the next part.
I approve this Savage.
The best part though was Merlin's repeated Shadowy entrances.
I like it when they take a moment to look at how crazy their lives has gotten over the course of both series. I kinda feel like it's a bit of the writers themselves saying how fucking stunned they are that they get to write this.
Seriously go back in time and describe this episode to someone watching Season 1 Arrow and see if they believe you.
We all knew she was a secret psycho, and a xenophobe, so its really only a matter of time before she shot an innocent. Plus cops always shoot unarmed people, so honestly its weird this hasn't happened sooner.
This was actually one of the best episodes from both series, i fucking loved it. Its making me want to watch Arrow again just to see happy Ollie
>I kinda feel like it's a bit of the writers themselves saying how fucking stunned they are that they get to write this.
Remember when the writers said that Arrow would be realistic, funny how things change.
I like Darhk. I think he had one of the best scenes in the episode. I thought his reaction to the Flash was funny.
As for Savage, He looks the part and he has that accent you can't nail down that some one who has lived in every culture would have.
His scenes were good. The Houdini trick with the sailors, bursting through the window. He's really not fucking around.
I said presence, not actions or looks. He's killing folks left and right but he doesn't have the threatening countenance that Eobard and Slade had. It's just really disappointing.
guess I'm just not on your level of taste
coming up next
So the guy who killed your boyfriend's mom AND causes the worst accidents your city has seen and everybody presumes dead is acting suspicious dressed like a burglar after some witness saw him in the scene of a crime just a few weeks before is walking to you with a sciency gun-like object in a lab in a city where people shoot ice, fire and fucking gold from pistols, and you want her not to be nervous?
She's got every right to be twitchy as fuck
>murder Harrison Wells standing in front of you
>he's supposed to be dead
>he has a gun
>you are a newly minted cop
Patty a shit, but she didn't do it for no reason
The episode didn't air today. Gotta wait until Dec 7th
>The episode didn't air today
here you go
>the CW's latest stab at a DC Comics superhero, Arrow, won't make that mistake as the series has one simple rule of thumb; no superpowers
here you go
do you remember exactly where they are in the episode, or just generally where they are? I can't remember
>Vandal saying he's never encountered someone with super speed
So I guess Supes doesn't exist in this plane of reality.
I think I'm done for tonight, see you tomorrow for Part 2 guys
I found a side shot
How is that bait? I just don't think he was as threatening as he could have been. Sorry I didn't jump into the hivemind, but I am hoping his performance is much better in the next episode.
Nope Murrica l. Came home from work and checked my DVR and saw this.
It weird because it's never recorded The Flash on a Monday before. Maybe it was some local bs came on.
Go lose another war you metric system using kek
Come give me a hug ...
Lmao that fucking face
he's a great actor, I'm glad they got him on the show
So i don't know if i am the only one who is thinking this but, what if they are gearing up towards merging Earth-1 and Earth-2, or at least dragging in the immediate areas around the breaches to Earth-1?
This season is probably going to end up with team flash trying to close the breaches and if they do Grodd is stuck on Earth-2 unless he decides to conquer Earth-1 Central City for some reason.
This would also fix the limitations that were made when they started Arrow and add more possibility for more out there villains.
>yfw the season ends with a mini Crisis event
The season is gonna end with Barry fixing the paradox that opened the portals for sure. But that's not going to be the end of Earth 2, i'm sure there are other ways of crossing over.
she can't move her eyebrows
it's really bizarre
right eyebrow is just locked in this raised position, can't stop staring at it
Is that coffee shop the magic shop of destiny reunions or something? That's two crossovers in a row where his ex just HAPPENS to be at the coffee shop at the same damn time as him.
They'd better resolve that storyline or else the third meeting in the damn shop will be too far.
Maybe she's the Rock's sister?
Well where else are they going to meet up in Central city? There's the lab, the police station, the newspaper with 5 people that Iris works at,random street alley...and the coffee shop...that's it. That's as far as it goes in terms of central city landscaping.
I don't know about that, and at least Patty is a decent actress. She looked so scorned when Joe told her to fuck off.
Also she can smile without looking like Jaws, unlike certain hawkgirls I could mention.
I would have preferred at least a different location. Police station could have worked, like she's filling a police report for a car accident or something while Barry is showing off his work space.
stuck with that shitty coffee shop set forever, it's like the corpse of Smallville clinging on for dear life
He's got peak ability of any human. So while not super strong or superfast, he does still have crazy reflexes and can beat any non powered dude easily.
Plus since he's immortal, he's spent thousands upon thousands of years learning everything. Name a topic and he knows everything about it, fighting styles, technology, tactics, etc.
Oh and the super healing.
Since you sound like an expert on the character, I have a quick question:
Did he ever come close to enslaving/destroying the world in the comics?
And if yes: Has anyone tried throwing him into a star or just space in general?
His usual role is to show up out of nowhere, appologize and tell team arrow how fucked they are, and how he's REALLY SORRY for last time, then leave again immediately after doing something really shitty.
>how long has that been a thing
>about eight months
>maybe if you save Stare City enough you'll get one too
HOLY FUCK that anon that posted the Flash snacks every week is from the future
He'll probably regenerate. Remember the Justice League episode the castle he's in gets hit by a plot device and turned to rubble. He just kind of shambles out, looking broken as fuck. But no, noone does because thats not justice.... unless he literally murdered a solar system.
>It's not Justice
See the thing about that, is that the closest thing to justice, would be eternal incarceration, since he's been doing this shit since the beginning of mankind.
If he's not going to die, why not just put him in a capsule with oxygen generators, and shoot him into space?
Really, the only thing they need to do to stop this guy, is put him in a place from which a normal human being can physically not return under any circumstances.
And let's not forget that not every hero works off of the "justice = slap on the wrist" code of honour. Some actually are trying to prevent further harm to the world, so putting him into the sun with a 9 iron wouldn't be far from them. He can have fun regenerating for eternity.
>Has anyone tried throwing him into a star or just space in general?
He once got stuck on a similar meteorite that gave him his immortality originally. He just crashed back on Earth after awhile.
saved and using as tomorrow's OP.
I only use my webms as the OP because im too lazy to find anything else that fits as the picture. I used to use the facebook picture they put out before the episode, but they dont do that anymore.
But I'm sure you're going to disregard anything i say because I'm a tripfag sorry anon
Gotta love comics logic.
>"Shit. I just got stranded on a random space rock, who knows how many millions of miles from planet Earth, if not light years or more!"
>"Well, I'm sure glad I brought along this 10 in-flight brochure about Tibetian Wild Life. Will hold me over until it inevitably crashes on Earth."
Why the fuck do they keep unmasking in front of everybody? They've shown themselves to like two bad guys in this episode.
I make the second editions of the OP, and use whatever image works based on the topic when the first thread reaches 700 posts.
Tomorrow I'll be out for the night, so if someone fills in it would be okay.
>They now know who Barry is.
Now, with Oliver you have a point, since he's running for mayor so his face is all over the place, but as for Barry, there is only one obligatory thing I can tell you:
Well It makes sense that Merlin would know who Savage is and what his motivations are, but they couldn't make the episode even more bloated by having them go to Nanda Parbat and back. Nor would it make sense for Merlin to have any role in the episode other than to spout exposition.
Last year's crossover was better in every way, this had all the problems Arrows been rife with since season 3 - the cast is too big. There's a lot to be said for scaling things back and keeping it simple.
so in IMDb listed this guy appearing on arrow's next episode
Is it true /co/?
Everything about this episode was fantastic. I agree there were too many characters, but it's a crossover, part of that is shoving every character down your throat to see how they all interact with each other
isn't there an embargo or whatever preventing the big 3 + booster gold and blue beetle from appearing on tv?
His outfit is somewhat true to the comics. I thought vandal was too fucking awesome, I'm excited to see him more in LoT. Hawk girl was cool, she's cute and all, but that fucking smile.... Can't get over seeing all those gums
Do you know who is coming back this season?
Yes. It's complete bullshit that DC wants their TV and movie universes to be separate. In the long run it'll hold them back. Sometimes I wish they took a page out of Marvel's strategy and make it all connected
Carter Hall was nonchalant about everything in the episode including shoving his waifu off a building. I think he had enough personality with what little time they gave him this episode.
Do you know who is coming back
Why? AoS has the exact same problems with not being able to use certain characters in case they want to put them in movies and Feige has said that he completely ignores the TV side of Marvel. It's got no affect on anything.
>I've seen men of steel die and dark knights fall
Someone in a previous thread said these are reference to the 90s storylines, so its possible that when RF changed the past, he made it that Supes and Batman don't exist yet in a form that Rip would see in this current timeline
Cause its totally likely that Rip has been all over the timestream and multiverse
No, that's just wishful thinking on /co/'s part. Feige doesn't want his comedy movies to be tainted by the grimdarkness of the Netflix shows - even though they're miles better in terms of quality. He now has all the power too, so he doesn't have to listen to Disney even if they wanted it.
I fucking hated that shit.
Not only did they completely ruin Green Lantern and turn him into MAHREEN. They somehow, interjected him into the fated lovers story? Are you fucking serious. And then they made the WHOLE fucking story about kekolding for an eternity. Not even a fucking 4chan meme. That's exactly what it was.
God, I fucking hated DCAU. Fucking hated it. They fucking ruined it so much.
I understand why they're doing it with major characters. People can't even wrap their heads around the fact that Ben Affleck and Christian Bale are playing two different Batman's(Batmen?). People are stupid and they know it. I think the Flash just got lucky because his show got popular before they put their plan into affect.
>wake up one day to realize you're an immortal bird mad
>think you'll be lonely forever
>suddenly remember you have an immortal waifu
>two seconds later you're reminded that your best friend is also immortal and has been keking you for centuries
>your whole life is one big cosmic joke about being keked by some emotionless nigger who only ever says, "I WAS A MAHREEN"
Are you fucking serious. John has ALWAYS been the worst lantern. Even in the comics he's whole fucking character is, "Hurr durr I'm a Mahreen"
Deal with it. I have to deal with Wally being black, and I can't even complain about it because everybody jumps on my ass for not being PC. :^)
I am fully expecting a ban for even posting this.
>Sometimes I wish they took a page out of Marvel's strategy and make it all connected
AoS can't do jackshit with comic characters exactly because the movies and tv shows are "connected." I vastly prefer DC's approach where you can use most obscure characters but everyone who's in a movie is largely embargoed. It allows you to highlight lesser characters.
>John has ALWAYS been the worst lantern. Even in the comics he's whole fucking character is, "Hurr durr I'm a Mahreen"
Maybe now, but not always. I miss the more introspective and level-headed-but-with-a-temper John of the late 80s and 90s.
Glad Flash is doing so well, but fuck. RIP in pieces, iZombie.
Do you even Multiversity? Most Earths share similarities but not all Earths have the same heroes. CW universe clearly has Ollie take Batman's place while Barry's like, half-Superman at this point.
>every moment of this episode was 11/10
>fight choreography on point
>jam packed with happenings
>every lightning strike to black I think "man what a great fucking first part"
>every time not the end of the episode
mercy fuck, the episode just did. not. stop. being amazing
really? I thought the intro Arrow fight against Dhark was better than what Arrow normally has on their show and it never felt like Barry was ever jobbing to Savage
were you just not feeling it?
Not like new readers know any different, some might actually like it. It's the same reason why the Finches are still on Wonder Woman, casuals have absolutely shit taste in comics.
Eh, that's a stretch. Flash mythos has him loved by the city at all times.
I joined the comics due to the show and put down Flash after future Barry arc. Barry is now fighting dinosaurs or something?
>Flash mythos has him loved by the city at all times.
Yes, but with no Superman on CWU he's clearly taking Clark's spot on the superhero hierarchy. Hell, he and Ollie are the ones who gather up the proto-Justice League/Outsiders from time members for Legends of Tomorrow.
I'm not sure I agree with that. Whilst I don't read a great deal of superman, he seems always more capable than Flash.
Barry blunders too much to be the top dog in the hierarchy. He hasn't really ascended beyond city-tier watchman.
>Barry blunders too much to be the top dog in the hierarchy
He has to job in order for there the be enough plot for an episode thanks to how overpowered he is. Same way Clark always had to fail defeating the baddie until the climax on Smallville or the Adventures of Lois and Clark.
I think it is a defining character trait. He is very powerful, has a wonderful moral compass but is pretty incompetent.
Kind of like 2/3 the way to a God. All loving, all powerful but not all knowing. That last bit is what lets him down.
>this level of mad because a cartoon wasn't 110% like MUH COMICS
>He has to job in order for there the be enough plot for an episode thanks to how overpowered he is.
That's no excuse. There are ways to keep the threat levels consistent without writing Barry as an airhead who can't think for himself.
>There are ways to keep the threat levels consistent without writing Barry as an airhead who can't think for himself.
All you'd do with that is swap Barry fucking up to plot devices that neuter Barry's speed every episode and then you'd bitch about that instead. It's the motherfucking Flash, it goes without saying that he's going to job because with his speed he ought to be able to knockout, handcuff and throw every villain into a holding cell in a blink of an eye.
>All you'd do with that is swap Barry fucking up to plot devices that neuter Barry's speed every episode and then you'd bitch about that instead.
Way to make assumptions. All I'm asking is Barry at least put a little thought into things before getting laid out. Like the Mist episode, or Captain Cold's introduction.
>second half of Flash/Arrow tomorrow
>BvS trailer right after
Gonna be a comfy night.
>All I'm asking is Barry at least put a little thought into things before getting laid out.
He does do that occasionally. And most of the times he literally could just move fast enough to knock the villain down before he/she event notices Barry, hence the jobbing.
Yeah but on the plus absolutely zero fillers. No Linda practising her shooting beams, no silly blind dates ...(Flash fillers are good) and absolutely no Olicity BS which is the worst kind of filler.
>dat thea and cisco interaction
What are the chances that we see Professor Zoom come back before the season's over?
>Arrow/Flash - Flash/Arrow two-parter
>Xenoblade X on Friday
This week's going to be great.
Who the fuck thought that ending was a good idea?
Amell's weird expression and that shitty music all came together to be awkward as hell.
Not him but good /m/an.
I'll certainly be there too
I'll see you
ON A WHOLE DIFFERENT PLANET
He pretty much did all he could this episode. He even went at Hawkman full speed and got caught. What else do you want from him? Funnily enough, whenever Barry trucks at people more often than not they find a way to catch or hit him. (I.E: Atom Smasher, Savage)
but besides that
>He uses Velocity 69 to get speedy
>The RF suit is already there
>Its literally just Eobard as Wells again, but really really Wells
>He's defeated and the suit lays around for decades
>Until its found by someone 100 years into our future
I enjoy how much these shows are embracing the ridiculousness
Just go all out, immortal shit and magic and superheroes left and right, why not? It's
They're gonna break the speedforce if that happens
So in this scene of the next episode Dig and Laurel die. Is Barry going back in time to stop it?
Joe pointed his gun at Wells when he first saw him but he had Barry and the rest of the gang to stop him and calm his head
Patty seeing Wells was just the two of them with noone to ease the situation, and he had what looked like a gun in his hand so she was justified in shooting him
God, I can't wait for DC to cancel this show when the Flash movie comes out.
>People don't enjoy eating shit? They must be samefags!
Look, you have to admit that the movie is going to be better than CW's adaptation, even if it's only 2 hours long. What I'm saying is that I'd prefer quality over quantity.
Superman vs Batman looks amazing. And even mediocre movies are more enjoyable than a TV show.
It's a simple matter of budget and development time. A TV show can never be more enjoyable than a Hollywood production.
>he thinks effeminate powersuit Flash will be the better adaption
Unfortunately, telling the origin story is necessary. That doesn't mean they can't tell it in a way that's fun and original, even for existing Flash fan.
The only other option would be to set the movie in the CW universe, with Grant Gustin in the lead role. That would be a terrible idea.
How else would you introduce the character to the audience? Most people aren't going to be drawn to a movie if they need to know a bunch of superhero trivia going into it.
Again, setting it in the established CW universe is not an option. No one would want to spend $10 to go watch a movie that feels like a TV show.
Origin stories are so boring. Just give us a story where the Flash already exists for a few years and just have maybe 5 minutes explaining what happened. You dont need to hold the audience's hand to explain the story. Hell even Star Wars did it right. Bad guy in spaceship killing god guy rebels. You dont need to know every single thing to enjoy the story. The guy in red runs fast.
I dont mind not having Grant Gustin as the movie Flash. I just dont want another undeeded origin story. I hope the Flash movie and Suicide Squad bomb.
>I dont mind not having Grant Gustin as the movie Flash. I just dont want another undeeded origin story. I hope the Flash movie and Suicide Squad bomb.
Holy shit. You can be this retarded.
When did I say they need to set in the CW universe you fucking retard
Superhero shit is everywhere. Everyone gets concept. Someone gets powers, does good. We don't need the same shit again. Make the origin 5 minutes, get on with the fucking story.
Could you be a more obvious shill?
>Ah fuck a shitty cross over, now I guess I need to watch an episode of Arrow
>Maybe its gotten better
>Cuts to team Arrow in a werehouse, they use a trick arrow to disarm a bunch of hoods while standing out of the way
>Then jump into the middle of them for fist fight
Superhero shows seem to be the only thing surviving on The CW.
>Vampire Diaries about to get canceled soon since that attention whore Nina Dobrev left
>Crazy Ex-Girlfriend definitely going to be canceled
>iZombie keeps dipping between safe and unsafe
>The Originals will surely follow Vampire Diaries to cancellation after the next season
Might as well just keep pumping out superhero shows until people get tired of them. I don't think people will get tired of them any time soon, though.
It has gotten better though, at least compared to season 3 (which isn't saying much I'll admit)
I do hate how much fist fighting they do. At least Ollie fired a billion arrows later in the episode
>Cuts to team Arrow in a werehouse, they use a trick arrow to disarm a bunch of hoods while standing out of the way
What's wrong with that? Arrow on the whole has been better than Flash this season.
>Young Eobard gets it
>becomes hero Flash
>emulates his idol
>goes back in time to visit idol and gush over him
>sees Barry kill Wells in the suit
>thinks his idol murdered him
>becomes Flashes enemy
Historically, no, but it is possible the show may wind up combining Velocity 9 and the "speed juice" used by the anti-matter world Johnny Quick, which could be seen as his version of a "speed formula'.
I'm a little mixed up. In JLA: Earth 3 Johnny Quick or evil Flash takes drugs. Is that drug called Velocity 9 or am I mixing up two drugs. Mercury uses the math formula. What does Jessie traditionally get her powers from? Her parents/good genes?
Cox has an interview floating around where he said he was contracted for a movie appearance just in case. I personally think you're right about Feige, but clearly they've left the possibility open.
>Three ARROW users are on top of a truck
>They disarm guards who are on the GROUND
>They could use their height advantage and take the guards out
>But they literally just jump onto the floor right away
Also a fucking magnet arrow that magically only works for their guns from a massive distance. Fuck right off.
Arrow is forever shit because unlike Flash they can't just go "And then Barry does speedforce shit because speedforce".
I really enjoy the off-brand collection of heroes they're building up
Papa DC says "no you can't use any more of the more recognizable heroes" so they're just like "fuck it we'll make this shit work somehow"
Trick arrows are fine. Best part of Arrow to date has still been the boxing glove arrow, and not because lel epib maymay but because it was a cool shot.
>Doesn't want to literally kill a guy
>Sees boxing glove
>Its a magnet arrow
>It like, takes all their guns
>Please ignore all the other metal shit around the area, it just doesn't work okay go with it
But no, please continue sucking off just the concept of a trick arrow without it wanting to be worth while.
Oh, and please remember that following this LEL EPIB TRICK they jumped off the van and fucking started a punch up, like they do every fight.
Why did they hire a skanky Mexican who can only do the dreamworks face and has no acting ability for Hawk Girl?
She literally cannot act. It isn't an opinion, she is clearly unable to move her face to form different emotions in a scene. All those fucking shots were from various points, and she all just looks confused.
Bitch is going to be annoying in Legends. No where near Laural levels or anything, but still. Least Hawk Man wasn't total shit, though he was not nearly manly enough.
>needs to stow away in a stinky ship to get to Central City
>not a billionaire entrepreneur or at least someone who has connections with world powers that would allow him to get his own fucking boat or plane
Much better than last year's crossover by far and large. Last year it felt like it was just trying to get everyone as much screen time as possible while using two throw away baddies.
Then what about after LoT airs?
Theyre not going to keep building up for LoT when they come back after the winter break because, well, LoT will be over by then.
Im thinking after, for the final half of the season. And to be honest they havent really been doing that much with LoT this season, Crisco has had some vibes seeing Hawkgirl but thats about it as far as i recall.
doubtful, since we're in the Arrow portion of the two-parter and it seems like the B plot will be focused on Oliver finding out about his son.
Zoom may or may not show up in Flash's mid-season finale, but he might upstage Trickster, Weather Wizard and Captain Cold if he does. Zoom is unfortunately not one of those enemies they can have around frequently because he so easily outclasses Barry. At least with Eobard he was in disguise and mentoring Barry when he wasn't in his suit fighting him.
All this LoT setup is really hurting Flash. Other then Barry getting Bane'd it's been pretty messy and slow.
I never thought I would enjoy a season of Arrow over The Flash after the trainwreck of S3, but I really feel like it's juggling its parts better then Arrow. Ebin Zoom memes aside Dahrk is actually an active participant in the story instead of a spooky plot spectre, so McDounagh gets to actually do things and give a performance.
Flash fels like it's running in circles(hue) right now. This episode was fun but I know it's not going to mean much to the overall season.
Fuck ratings I say, I'm enjoying the ride.
At this point I'm waiting for the local pizza boy to learn who the Flash is.
This is how stalking shit starts.
So fucks patty and gets to pretend fuck zombie/evil red head bitch? Why even get up any more.
They are saving it for the tower of babel episode where it is discovered that Ollie has a plan to stop every member of the legends of tomorrow team and Merlyn steals those plans to kill them.
They really botched Jay Garrick, he's barely even on screen. They must've dumped all their guest star money into Patty for some stupid reason. He just seems to show up, act indignant and then disappear. Hell some episodes he's not even around at all. What the fuck does he do all day?
shit yeah, does he have a job on earth-1? or an apartment? where did he get the money for an apartment? he left all his qualifications and references and money and belongings on earth-2
mark Hamill was never on gotham, you're thinking of the Flash TV series from the 90s, and no it's not the same universe just a really great bit of casting, John Wesley shipp, the Flash from that same show plays Barry's dad Henry in the new show as well
It doesn't have to be connected, just allow multiple versions of characters.
I mean, for fuck sake, this season of Flash is the perfect casual explanation.
>Hey, why is Barry from the show different from Barry in the movie?
>They really botched Jay Garrick, he's barely even on screen
Because he doesn't have as much to contribute as Wells at the moment and team Flash is already pretty big without him standing there doing nothing
>All we want is from Green Batman to remember he is actually supposed to be Wacky Robinhood once or twice a season.
And magnet arrow wasn't that? Or Ollie's relatively upbeat interactions like "you have failed this omelette" this season?
Dutch = Underwater germans
Danes = Racist scandinavians that hate giraffes and lions
It seems to be implied that he hops in and out of the Earth 2 portal. It stands to reason that the portal links the two labs together.
Feels more like CW is too cheap to have two speedsters and so just fucked over Jay while trying to rekindle S1 Wells hype.
>Former billionaire playboy who is now running for mayor isn't instantly surrounded by press and bothered by people while he waits in line at a coffee shop.
Probably the least believable thing in the entire episode.
>trying to rekindle S1 Wells
And failing you mean.
