Lol soft drugs edition
Don't drink alcohol though, you'll stab your hand off kid
Side note: check out Dora's thigh gap. Somebody find the angry twitter messages to Jeph from fatties and post them
That's not really a thigh gap, it's the natural consequence of surgically removing your pelvis and inserting your legs in your thoracic cavity.
>Dora let Faye go for drinking at work while still doing her job
>Tai said she couldn't work because she was so stoned and Dora is fine with that.
Is this because Faye is straight?
Good God, I can't believe you people read this.
It's been like this for years, and I'm honestly just baffled at this point.
How have you fallen for this fat oaf's siren song?
>Are you somehow implying that Jeffery is making a profit from my laughing at his comic
He is, and he will.
You can laugh at all you want, but he'll have the last laugh at the end of the month. People being unable to let the comic go are the reason he is one of the top webcomickers.
Tai, you've stolen Claire's haircut!
...I don't have the SJW Claire shop. So I'll just use lusty Claire for no reason.
Is it really beyond your means to see the perfectly obvious?
We like to shit on a bad webcomic made by a bad person. How can you not comprehend that? This question gets asked every thread and every time it's the same answer.
I only read it here. One of us goes and grabs it off the site. Thereby giving us our fun and denying Jeph the page hits he would get if we all went there ourselves.
If you don't approve of this, Im sorry. But you can easily just ignore these threads
Im genuinely curious as to why us doing this concerns you and others so much that you feel this need to step into each and every single QC thread and question why we do it.
Seriously, what are you getting out of this? If you think we're wrong, why can't you just let us be "wrong"? and go participate in topics you actually LIKE?
>curvy in 1st pannel
>boyish in 3rd
I'm gonna say no.
I'm not sure if I dislike Tai for how shit a friend to Marten she's been, or I'm mad at Marten for being a doormat.
Then I remember that stuff happened like 3 years ago and the comic is still poopy then I feel pathetic.
Let's talk about the joys of alcoholic beverages and why Jeph should drink himself into a coma.
>Good God, I can't believe you people read this.
I can't believe that people still show up to whine and complain about Jeph Jacques despite how much they "hate" the comic. I'm doubly impressed that nobody really cared before Claire and that these threads turned from pure fetishizing to outright hatred the moment /co/ figured out he wasn't going to pander to them.
Now someone explain to me how in a free market, Jeph is somehow a monster because people freely donate money to him with the understanding that he keep up his mediocre webcomic. Someone tell me how he's worse than Tatsuya, Dobson, or Diaz.
That's Tai, Dora's girlfriend and Marten, Claire and Emily's boss.
>Implying Faye's sister didn't get on the same bus as Marten's band, the POC Coffee of Doom employees, black intern, all the non-Hannelore Coffee of Doom employees, Will, and Angus after Jeph dropped their plotlines
>If you think we're wrong, why can't you just let us be "wrong"?
Because it's funny
>he [Obama] personally pays for the equipment and ingredients
No, we, the taxpayers, do, through his salary.
Those are different people??? I just thought Faye had become a lesbian for no reason.
But that's wrong, you fucking retard.
We're not just talking about polling. Social research--not just opinion polling, although that's part of the package--is crucial for everything ranging from ad campaigns to profit forecasts to gas price indexes to legislation.
I know you don't like liberal arts, but don't jerk yourself off over things you know jack shit about.
Psh, ever get polled? They ask bullshit leading questions to arrive at a predetermined answer, and they do this by peppering questions with qualifiers like "always", "never", "sometimes", "at least once". So they poll you and ask shit like
"I always agree with Democrats"
"I have agreed at least once with Republicans"
You're lumped in as right wing because you're forced to answer no to the Democrat one and yes to the Republican one even though you might be a Bernie Sanders fanatic. Then, a few months later, when The Guardian and HuffPo post articles with titles like, "America's Alarming Allegiance to Conservatism" and they claim 40% of people "identify as conservative", the actual alarming thing is the 60% of people who either lied or are genuinely ideologues to answer that way.
Oh, and then you read the methodology and see that they called 250 landlines from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Great sampling method there.
If you want to see the above phenomenon in effect, take that political compass survey that's all the rage right now. The reason everyone posts lower left graphs is because the testing forces you there via "always", "never", etc.
Ceased to exist due tor creative differences and Amir/Natasha breaking up, Marten wasn't particularly good friends with them and they sort of just drifted apart.
Don't really hold that one against jeph, they left the comic in a sensible manner.
>POC Coffee of Doom employees
Legit can't even remember any besides Dale, damn. Those ones must be gone for a while.
I wish Jeph would have had the decency to even have her quit or something.
Currently shacking up with Penelope, AKA the former main-character-who-works-at-the-coffee-shop-everyone-is-always-at-while-only-appearing-twice-a-year-at-best
Fucked off to the West coast after breaking up with Faye, don't really hold this one against Jeph either beyond him not having him say a proper farewell/Marigold even mentioning her former only-friend and roomate.
holy fuck though this comic has dropped a lot of characters
Marten's bad still exists. Over the past few years it's just been Marten and Hanners dragging their feet over playing a show. For whatever reason Amir follows along despite actually formerly being in a band that played shows.
Penelope and Cosette had a cameo last week.
The black intern did quit. She was written out last year or something. Don't remember the circumstance.
Actually, you're kinda right about the band. It did split up and then was ambiguously carried forward when Marten and Hanners discovered Amir living in the studio and then proceeded to have a jam session. I think everything since then has been off screen. This is the latest reference I know of.
2013? Not two months ago? What am I doing with my life?
>ever get polled?
No, but I'm married to someone who directs (among other things) some long-running attitude surveys, and they're nowhere near as simplistic as you're describing. I'm talking (usually) in-person interviews with pages upon pages of detailed, nuanced questions that change depending on the background of the individual interviewed (everything from ethnicity to income level to religion to region to beyond gets factored in).
It probably helps she's studying shit in no way tied to elections or political parties, which further reinforces my point: social research is important, complex, and nowhere near the career-killer Womyn's Lit and Media field described in >>77846124.
Like, is there even an audience for this crap?
"It's like gayer Scrubs with no jokes!"
Haha, I love how people are suddenly so concerned about how employable someone is when they see body mods they don't like. Same with how everyone's a fucking doctor as soon as they meet a fat person. Stay in ur lane bitch
Dawkins is actually an atheist unlike these dogshit newfangled atheists who are like "I think religion is great and amazing I just personally don't believe right now but I probably will later". Bunch of fucking pussies. Religion is wrong and evil and cramming it up your child's ass is child abuse.
Maybe if you're a prod.
You're just jealous of our great Culture.
Catholicism: The Renaissance, Galileo, and Mirandola
Islam: Islamic Golden age, Geber, and Nubers
Judaism: World domination, kebab removal
Protestantism: Goddamned Creation museums and country Music
Or replace their Christianity with the religion of feminism and social justice.
Christian claim? 100% skepticism!
SJW claim? Listen and believe! (they literally say this while simultaneously mocking Christians for believing in claims without evidence)
Extremists in general are the problem and they take all kinds of creeds.
Extremism is the problem, and blaming it on any one ideology is ignoring the root of the problem.
I'm pretty sure Stalin and the North Korean Dynasty were all Atheists and they weren't automatically good human beans.
The difference between a good person and a bad one isn't one of Religion, it's one of common decency.
If you're the type of retard who blows up an abortion clinic, you'd probably be the kind of person who shoots up a church if you were an Atheist.
>Side note: check out Dora's thigh gap. Somebody find the angry twitter messages to Jeph from fatties and post them
Dora has always canonically been a scrawny bitch. They made comments to that effect back when the art was so shit that everyone looked exactly the same.
The problem with Marigold is that some people read her as "actually a fatass", when she was always supposed to just be "has massive body-image issues and THINKS she's a fatass", and then got mad when they were wrong.
>she was always supposed to just be "has massive body-image issues and THINKS she's a fatass"
and honestly, I'm a feministand believe in progressivenessetc but that person's response to Marigold in a bikini was utter bullshit. Like people said earlier in the thread, it's extremism that is bad.
People can have their headcanons but when they bully the creator of a comic into self-harm because a character's body doesn't conform to their headcanon there's a huge problem with that person, outside of their ideology (which they have twisted)
And I always related to Marigold's body issues because she's got a similar body to me. I actually liked the comic with her in a bikini.
Same two characters doing the same exact thing approximately 845 strips ago.
Which basically means they each gained like 20 pounds in a week by QC's time.
plus Dora used to be even thinner. remember when her, Penpen, and Faye went to the gym and even though Faye was "curvy" they were all smaller than Dora and Tai are now?
>I can't believe that people still show up to whine and complain about Jeph Jacques despite how much they "hate" the comic.
I can't believe you feel like it should matter to you.
Go find another thread. Or start one about a topic you like.
Doesn't really matter the level of complexity. Pollsters still manipulate the data to fit certain agendas.
>>social research is important, complex, and nowhere near the career-killer Womyn's Lit and Media field described in
So you want us to believe. But then you clearly have a stake it it, even if it's just being married to a pollster. So your testimony can in no way be trusted as truly unbiased.
I'm commenting today because of what jeph said on twitter.
He was on an airplane, and a woman in 1st class saw his tattoos, and wanted to see the rest and he just got pissed and said "sorry I don't feel like it"
This shit right here annoyed the shit out of.
I really do understand not wanting to have to roll up your sleeve at every beck and call
But honestly what the fuck? Why would you get a tattoo if you don't want people to admire and see it?
Looks like he overreacted there, but he was nice about it in person and the person was in the wrong if they did say it like that.
Nothing to make a big deal out of, which Jeff hasn't.
>hey look at all this hideous shit I do to mutilate myself for attention
>omg I get so triggered when people pay attention to me!
/tumblr/ in a nutshell
"sorry I don't feel like it" is a perfectly legitimate response. It's his body after all. It's him calling her a presumptuous asshole that I find irksome.
Jesus, Jimbles. She thought you looked cool. How often does that happen, seriously? I mean, look at yourself.
just like what he did to the tranny
I don't mind the hair but I had to go back and check Tai in previous comics, I had entirely forgotten she had a nose piercing.
She is always shown from the other side or its so small you can barely notice it.
Then this comic.. Full focus on it
And urgh.. have her ear plug things have expanded? they now got holes in them.
He really knows how to ruin his characters.
Lets give Faye an alcohol problem suddenly.
Lets give Marigold a forced relationship with Dale. (don't get me wrong I like Dale, but the relationship was so forced)
Lets give Claire a nosering.
And now it also feels like he is trying to force Hannelore together with Sven, with the whole Sven-and-Dora-talking-together-again plot.
And trying to force Emily together with Clinton.
He better not ruin Hanners and Emily. :|
>implying Hanners x manbun isn't the OTP
I know Jeph has always sucked with perspective and back then he was at least trying but, lol, that leg in panel one. It's like he grabbed a spare part from his template capital and jammed it somewhere into the mattress.
He's said before that he doesn't like talking about his bird tattoos, I think they're really personal
not wanting to show off your tatts on a plane is fair, but calling her an asshole for being friendly/curious makes HIM an asshole. No need for hostile language at all.
More evidence that Claire's his insert. Jeph's like a woman who wears a flimsy dress, goes out for a night out on the town, and then posts the rest of the night on twitter and bugs everyone at work about all the creepy, rapey men that were staring at her and making her feel unsafe for some strange, unknown reason.
>Lets give Faye an alcohol problem suddenly.
She always had a drinking problem senpai
And I think you're using the word "force" a lot considering he writes his own comic, and these characters aren't real...
I want to draw more of Hanners getting plowed, but so few pairings make sense and Hacks will never put her in a relationship.
go for it family, I think Hanners and Momo go well since Momo should be extremely sterile. being a robot, Momo can have a robodick retract out from her chassis for plowing. Hanners and Veronica would be hot too
>I like Dale, but the relationship was so forced
>you will accept this ship and you will like it
>sincerely, jeph jacques
Don't worry, Emily was ruined long ago, basically from the start. She was probably meant to be Marten's quirky, somewhat unreliable love interest but with a heart of gold and then handstab happened and ushered in this new era of numb sub-mediocrity.
the trappening ruined the seeds for Martemily, which is sad because they would have worked together (before he ruined Emily by making her retarded during the Clin-ton arc) and he could have still moved onto the tranny in a few years (real, not comic) time. but Hacks doesn't understand pacing, just pandering.
>Lets give Faye an alcohol problem suddenly.
She's been an alcoholic since the beginning of the comic. She used to completely switch speech patterns when she was drunk.
Yeah but the urgency was rather sudden
(and forced). This is what Jeph does. He claims he has these long arcs in mind years in advance George Lucas style but when it comes down to it he writes the actual script over the weekend (like Lucas) and doesn't proofread any of it. Faye has a drinking problem as a background character trait but Jeph decides to make an arc of it the day he starts writing it. Then he makes all sorts of mistakes and does a bunch of backpedaling and it all falls flat.
Faye is provisionally "cured" until Jeph feels like taking a second
handstab at it, which, knowing him, could be 2019. Just think about it. Faye gets drunk, except this time it's different (for reasons) and gets fired from her job, even though her boss was buying beer for her to drink at work a few days prior. Then, for some reason (Patreon bux), Claire shows up, makes coffee and leaves. The next day Faye goes to an AA meeting. The day after that, the robot fighting club. Now about 40% of the strip is desperately trying to get the audience to connect with the stupid menstrual robot, whose character sucks, mostly due to Jeph's usual lack of planning, and didn't need to be introduced in the middle of what was supposed to be Faye's redemption (or downward spiral, take your pick) arc.
26 in this early strip so probably 28 or 29 by now.
No she didn't, any one of the characters was liable to get drunk when they were partying or upset about something, then Jeph decided to be sober and began to paint using alcohol in any respect as unsavory and problematic
Jeph didn't seem to want to pair Marten with the trap but kept hinting at the pairing because it drove his audience up. That strip was a last ditch effort to get everyone on board with Emily but it was too late. The character was neglected and Jeph tried to supersize her personality to make up for lost time, which just made the whole thing a wreck. The Padma pairing was more natural and she barely had a character at all.
>He claims he has these long arcs in mind years in advance George Lucas style
Oh okay, so hes a liar. Gotcha
I like Hanners x Marigold. The juxtaposition of body types gives me material to work with.
I think a year or so has passed since Marten got the Library gig. Hes said hes been there for a couple of semesters. Plus, there was a 6 month time skip when Marten and Dora were dating, and Sven and Faye were fucking.
So probably 2-3 years tops has passed in QC.
>showing up to work high.
Literally the worst kinds of people.
All your timeline needs answered here.
The autism is real.
in other news, ol stabby hasn't given up on this yet (though he is down to about 1 comic a week)
hilarious since he previously showed Alice being basically orgasmic over beating the shit out of that bitch
>Sorry if the art looks weird in this one, I am trying out a Surface Pro 4 for mobile comic drawing and it takes a bit of getting used to!
more excuses for off model garbage
What's the fucking problem? If Penelope or whoever flakes out then Dora just goes back to working 70 hours a week. How much can she really fuck things up? Meanwhile Dora can interview Faye's replacement with the at least temporarily freed up time. Hard to believe she's really a business owner, especially in the service industry.
it's all just setting up Dora trying to hire Faye back and Faye turning her down because she's in love with Big Red in the illegal-for-no-reason robot fighting league
Goddamn it she better not bring back the hambeast
That is technically the business she's in, but I'm not sure if it really should apply to a hipster place that purposefully gives poor service as a gimmick like hers.
Theres Hanners, Penelope, Steves Girlfriend?, Dale, and Dora.
There was one but she was written out after 2-3 appearances. She "died" but Jeff later released a comic saying she got her leg eaten by a dinosaur.
>Why would you get a tattoo if you don't want people to admire and see it?
Because it's something I wanted, not something I wanted to show off to anyone that happens to ask about it. If I'm doing something I'm not going to start taking off my clothes to show a stranger all my tattoos.
>off model garbage
You think there's a model?
Penelope is an atheist who considers herself smarter and more enlightened than Christian. She contemptuously considers them ignorant sun-humans who believe in fairy tales.
Just like real life atheists
I really don't get the appeal of this comic. It was the favorite of my best friend in high school, but I remember he said it was for the hipster music references. Why do you guys keep coming back? Sure, it updates quickly, but you don't see constant sinfest threads.
I come here once in a blue moon for the edits and encouragement to improve my art.
It's getting handstabbey again. I demand more trap action!
Whoa hold on, when did Dora become a lesbian?
Anon, any webcomic creator who's been at it for more than 5 years has to have one of their characters turn out to be some stripe of LGBT now, or else tumblr will lash out at them for being "uninclusive."
Jacques was actually a little ahead of the curve by outing Dora as bisexual years ago, then he went full-bore with Claire and removed all interesting conflict from the strip.
But, anon, Marten is completely straight.
But anon, Claire identifies as a woman, that means being sexually attracted to her is straight, dick or not.
I mean, sure, being gay is literally being physically attracted to the male form and genitalia, but that doesn't matter with transfolk because reasons.
Sure, but pro tip, straight guys don't want to fuck you if you have a cock. I get that on /co/ the attitude is a lot different, mainly due to desperation, but normalfags don't dig chicks with dicks.
Most dudes don't even want to be with post op trannies, which is why they should keep their dicks.
There are some guys who are into chicks with dicks and that's what they want. Nobody wants a falsely approximated vagina.
No weatherman would ever say that. No weatherman in the history of meteorology has ever said that. When a weatherman says it's raining, it's because it is factually raining.
Thus it's the same thing when I say that Atheists simply can't leave it at just not believing in God. Every single one Ive ever dealt with has to act like theyre superior to theists.
There are other cures available.
>No weatherman would ever say that. No weatherman in the history of meteorology has ever said that. When a weatherman says it's raining, it's because it is factually raining.
And no self-respecting person would make a claim that God exists for the exact same reason.
Gee look at that analogy bite you straight in the ass.
QC mouths are literally B^Uckley tier. Each QC character has 2 standard mouth movements, closed and slack-jaweded.
The only thing that puts jeph half a step above Golden age B^U is the fact that he actually has characters move their eyebrows occassionally.
Apparently he's a long time reader. When searching for the strip I found Twitter mentions from 2008.
>Claire will never fuck you after a heated debate with her penis.
Oh and one of the truncated forum descriptions said everyone in this strip is a representation of someone in Jeph's clique so apparently their identities are supposed to be guessable.
>so apparently their identities are supposed to be guessable
ARRU ROOKA SEIMU
You won't stop. I fucking know you won't.
Jeph could rape your mom's rotting corpse on live television and you wouldn't stop.
How hard is it for him to just keep information on his own characters.
It would even need to be more than a page per person really.
Holy fuck how can anyone be so bad at writing a story?
He doesn't even have artistic skills to make up for it.
Damn I wish I had made some stupid comic back in the 90s or early 2000s for some easy money.
We used to have a bunch of edits, but there hasn't been much material to work with.
Her thing about firemen implies the opposite. It was a stroke of genius on Jeph's part to make her a germophobe. Now she has a believable reason to remain pure while being the most attractive female character.
I don't quite know why, but it seems to be a fairly common thing with unattractive white male writers who used have a sense of humor, then turned completely SJW.
See also: Joss Whedon, the man with no sense of character voice
>Why is this comic so terrible
Jeph's fans don't care about the quality of the comic, so he doesn't even need to try.
It's hilarious to see how lazy he is. He gets paid 10k a month, in public donations alone, to do something that takes 2 hours a day.
I didn't finish that thought.
He's so lazy that despite being paid an incredibly decent wage, especially for a webcomicker, he acts like he's completely worn down despite his actual job taking less than 2 hours a day.
I've never seen someone so well off whine so badly.
Why does he hate le no God man?
I thought he'd be all for the biggest Meme Atheist around. Did he say something bad about Muslims instead of just Christians?
I hope they break up and Tai takes it out on Marten because of his shitty advice. He then takes it out on Claire by saying something mean about trannys. Then they break up and Marten realizing how shitty his life has become. He then starts to work on himself which motivates everyone else to better themselves one way or another. Which they realize one by one how toxic they are around each other and slowly move away. Where its only Marten, Faye, and Pintsize. Which would bring the comic to a full circle and to a close.
>I hope something interesting happens
Why? Why would anyone assume this in QC
>Marten and Claire finally hooking up
>Dora cuts ties with Sven
Offscreen and then resolved in one panel
>Mysterious ray gun
horrible pizza delivery system
>Illegal robot fighting ring
only illegal because of gambling off the books
>AI in the military
two pages of back story just so Momo and Bubbles can agree to disagree in one panel
>Bubbles flipping out at the party
resolved immediately the next day
>Claire and Marten have a misunderstanding on the phone
resolved just so she can fuck off
>Claire gets a nose ring
Nobody says anything about it ever
See this trend? It's a short list of shit happening and getting immediately dropped. Tai and Dora's last fight was dropped faster than it started. The only thing that actually had an impact recently was Faye getting drunk, fired, more drunk, sober, then working in an illegal underground fighting ring.
He goes to 4-6 cons per year and either milks other webcomic authors (who are also at the conferences) to do his work or somehow forgets the number of days he needs to plan for and puts up doodles for the ones he's "omg so tired sorry guys I tried soooo hard maybe tomorrow"
His live-streams would go for around 2-3 hours. So the estimate is right.
Which is infuriating in hindsight given for that amount of work a day, Jackie is essentially being paid triple the minimum wage of a burger jockey making 40 hours of week if his pateron is near a steady $10k a month.
There's a reason he stopped doing the live streams. It's no coincidence that the art quality started dropping around the same time, especially the backgrounds. To this day he experiments with how much he can regress and get away with it. About once per year he does a week or so with no or reduced shading and experiments with not respecting character models at all.
>triple the minimum wage of a burger jockey making 40 hours of week if his pateron is near a steady $10k a month.
He was making six figures even before Patreon. QC supported him and his wife living in New England for ten years.
>He was making six figures even before Patreon. QC supported him and his wife living in New England for ten years.
Even counting out the "other stuff," for people to pay him additionally for his mediocrity and lazyness is an insult to injury.
He also had a lot of spare time due to having absolutely nothing to do between getting kicked off Star Trek in 1991 and Internet memeing his way into Big Bang Theory as a perennial guest in 2009.
At one point he was working in the QA department of a company that made video processing cards for Amiga computers.
Everything looks worse now. And Jeph basically refuses to draw more than two characters per strip these days, partly due to laziness and partly due to his "iPhone mode" panels not being capable of holding more than two identifiable vertically oriented objects. QC was always a slow strip but the two character limit that's been imposed over the last year or so has made the thing absolutely glacial.
Berman's a piece of shit, but it's funny how the really shitty, no-talent actors on the shows are somehow the most vocal about his poor treatment. Garrett Wang (Harry Kim from Voyager) is another one in that mold. Rumor is he was bossy and argumentative on the set and thought he was running the show, which is easy to believe if you read his interviews.
There is no reason to continue reading this comic. There is no struggle, there are no arguments, there is nothing to actually look forward to. The AIs are the most interesting thing lately, because surprise fucking surprise, they're the only thing that hasn't been explored and Jeph actually dislikes talking about them, because they distract from what he considers the "interesting" characters. This comic shows no growth, and when it does it's tossed out the window and ignored for the next arc. i.e. when Dora started going to therapy after breaking up with the first healthy relationship in her life. And we're only hearing about the therapist again after all this time. This comic doesn't care or represent growth of an individual. It just showcases the process of existing. And ironically, Marten is STILL the perfect main character, as even after thousands of strips he still "just exists".
Then hide the thread and/or go participate in a thread you like. If no such thread exists, then you're perfectly able to start one yourself.
No one is forcing you to come into these threads
Schultz would be spinning in his grave to see art like this
to get fucked by claire
my theory is they keep up the constant threads because they're waiting for Jeph to collapse in on himself and break down completely, he's come real close to the edge a couple times.
pretty sure /co/ is trying to get him to stab himself in the penis for the hat trick
Well Obama had a ton of money before he became president and his salary is his personal money. If things worked the way you seem to think, then nobody would be able to claim that they purchased something with their own money.
>Well Obama had a ton of money before he became president and his salary is his personal money.
And his vacations are taxpayer money. At least all Dubya ever did was go to his ranch
People read QC because they can't stop themselves.
They'll throw ever excuse in the book at you, but at the end of the day, they're still trapped in the snare of absolute blandness that is QC.
I've been toying with the idea of QC being a friend simulator for its readers.
Deep down QC readers just want to live in a world where nothing ever goes badly and everyone just kind of blandly hang out.
You know what I hate the most about QC?
All the little bullshit things that show how fucking Post-Scarcity society is, but nope!
Gotta focus on this bullshit and that bullshit. Slice of life nonsense!
Is Claire a real girl? Does it really matter? This is a world with sentient lap top computer bots and hologramaphones and fucking visiting a space station with artificial gravity!
I give it fifty/fifty that anyone is what they say they are. For fucks sake, she probably didn't even need to tell the dude that she was trans, given the setting! HE WOULDN'T FIND OUT! EVER!
But no, we have to deal with Faye being an alcoholic. I bet there's a pill for that.
I mean, holy shit. I understand why they're all in school still, you know. Because it's Post-Scarcity, but jesus christ in a napsack!
Okay, let's do the maths.....
For arguments sakes, lets say Jackie-Boy gets his full $10K a month from Pateron and we ignore his other supposed income streams like T-Shirts, Ad Revenue, and Sex Slave trafficking.....
He works from Sunday to Thursday, so pretty much 5 days a week, taking Friday and Saturday "off."
A strip takes him around, 3 hours from start to finish. This is assuming he doesn't bother to do buffers or other side shit. So for one month, he works 15 days, for a total of 15 hours a "work week."
Now......if we do the maths: He "gets" per day, $666 to essentially do the equivalent of tracing anime images some deviantArt tartlet does for free.
>Is Claire a real girl? Does it really matter? This is a world with sentient lap top computer bots and hologramaphones and fucking visiting a space station with artificial gravity!
It's almost never brought up. /co/ has made a meme out of it, but it's such a minor point to her character that you wouldn't know if there wasn't a strip where she explicitly told Marten.
Besides, it's not post-scarcity society - you're just reading too much into the setting.
Actually, knowing if Claire has a penis or not helps to explain why Marten has had a string of failed romances with biological females, and he resorted to dating a trap.
>Cubeicle work is the only life I know: The Post
Anon when you stop chasing boot licker and min. wage jobs, you find there is a whole world of employment that doesn't give two shits about suit n tie types. And that is not even counting self employment.
He's still in his early twenties, but there's this weird dissonance between his age and how jeph portrays him.
Jeph basically betrays his own age in Marten, so he kind of comes off as this aging hipster, whereas Claire comes off as a highschool student.
They're only like 2 years apart in universe, but it feels like Marten is at least 10 years older.
FUCK QC! IT IS GAY! IT WAS GAY AT THE BEGINNING AND IT IS GAY NOW!
KILL JEPH! KILL ALL MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATES OF THE INTERNATIONAL SODOMY EXCHANGE! KILL ALL DOGS!
>The creator of this comic would be appalled and disgusted by this, judging on what little I know of him through what he's sold me.
>>I think jeph jaques is probably appalled and disgusted by lots of things
>This post is shit.gif
And the third top comment has more points than the top second, but is shown third because of the massive downvotes:
>Aw come one don't sully a perfectly good comic by re writing it for nefarious purposes
The president has to pay for his own lodging and food. That's why they usually go on retreats to camp David or something like that.
Also, the president's vacation is a working vacation. He's still doing his job while on 'vacation'. So taxpayers pay for his presidential staff and security and so on.
I don't enjoy this comic any more than you do, but those were what the reasonable among us would call "jokes."
I really resent the implication that the solution to any of life's problems is either therapy or medication.
Whatever happened to strength of will and taking charge of your own life without all these crutches?
Are all the people in this comic mentally ill? Is that the whole point?
Haha, fuck! I'm loving this new word filter I made.
How do you know what the president is doing in the Oval Office?
>the president takes a vacation every other week
Gee, I really wish people actually bothered looking stuff up instead of just watching Fox News to find things to get upset about.
In the beginning yes. The government only paid the Prez; expenses was his responsibility like parties and upkeep.
Jefferson was $20k in debt when he left. Monroe was twice that in debt when he left.
>Offscreen and then resolved in one panel
>resolved immediately the next day
>two pages of backstory just so Momo and Bubbles can agree to disagree in one panel
No longterm story buildup. Just few offhand remarks, and then everything pushed into one comic page. And every tiny thing we seen so far about characters gets ignored just so the story suddenly can go with something else that fits where Jeph wanna take the story.
>Its his comic, he can do what he want.
Oh sure, with reader numbers going down and Paterons leaving. He clearly is going in the right direction.
Easy fast comics with gimmic characters that change on a whim, instead of something good.
Next up predictions, one comic where Hanners is suddenly over all of her past problems and dating manwhore Sven. And then gets whatever STD he carries, followed by a backlash into her problems and then suicide which no one ever mentions again.
One comic where Bubbles talks about having killed someone, and then everyone is okay with it and she is over it.
Tai and Dora break up, Marten and Claire gets fired from the libary and go work for Dora. And we only see Tai once in another comic in about a year as a crackhead to show "Drugs are bad. M'kay.".
And then again in another comic in another year where she shows up as a corpse, and no one is borthed by it.

I am intrigued by this plot, I wish to read your pamphlet a/or book about this for future perusal.
Also, fun fact: After it was found out Truman was pretty much almost on the brink of destitution (he refused to sully his name with endorsements and was living on a modest Military Pension), Congress passed a bill where all Presidents get a pension after they leave office.
I'm not any of those guys, if that's what you're getting at, but I'm tired of politics and ideology invading every discussion these days. Everyone's constantly bitching about tumblr, SJWs, fedoras, degenerates, etc. It's getting really old. I filtered all of those things, as well as a whole bunch of other common buzzwords. It's all Gabe Newell now.
With this thing, whenever a bunch of anons go and decide to have a smug-off, I'll be getting a couple cheap laughs out of it at the very least.
Oh yeah, don't let actual shit that's in record get into the way of a hate fest circle jerk.
Well you kinda need money at some point to get the tools that you need to become a powerful politician. At one point, it wasn't necessary, but these days, being rich is table wages. Besides, who's going to vote for a dude that never made it himself?
Faye was always supposed to be a little fat but it took a while before Jeph began illustrating her that way. Due to not having a standard model for her (or any character) Faye can vacillate anywhere between plump and borderline obese, sometimes even within a single strip
