It's not that they make him job outside of comics, it's that everyone jobs to him in comics.

Funny thing is, he actually was second rate. The Judas Contract was like his one major storyline. The TT archnemesis title belonged more to Brother Blood. Deathstroke as the biggest and baddest was from the cartoon.
