There are literally years worth of amazing stories to read from the original runs in the 60s to the original Drax and Gamora stories combined with the masterpiece that is DnA Guardians (which is like at least 5 years of content all things considered). There is no reason why someone who has never read these comics before has to read these shitty Hacknis books especially when the only relation they share to the original comics, the good comics are the characters have the same name. Everything from their designs to their assbackwards constant crossovers with only bendis written books makes them a shallow reflection of how good they used to be.

Bendis used to be good. Like 10 years ago.

His Guardians is absolute and utter wank. They do nothing and every "arc" is padded out forever without them every accomplishing anything. The only time the characters ever do anything is when they end up teaming up with bendis's shitty O5 X-men or the like. Hell im not totally unconvinced that the real reason Agent Venom got canceled was because bendis told marvel that he wanted to use Agent Venom in space and they just canceled the book and gave it to him (only to be over a year later and Flash has literally done nothing). Then you have the great disrespect towards anything not written by him. The new costumes are so awful that for once making the characters look like they did in the popular movie was actually a good idea since the new original designs were like aborted power ranger designs.

If you never read a guardians book you might like it because it caters to the audience who has never read a book before, the bottom rung of a ladder audience who knows no better.
