I generally like the newer episodes much more than the average /co/ viewer and even I have to admit that some of the writing in this mini-series was very bad. Still enjoyed most of it though. I do feel like the show continually cheapens itself whenever we go back into the past.

As most people I've already seen every episode, and I'm European so I won't bother talking to much about it happening. I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed Stakes (only the E4 song killed it for me), and I'd give the miniseries a solid 9/10. It has been really fun, good adventure, the vampires and their designs were perfect (VK is GOAT tier), and the humour was spot on. I really hope the new episodes follow this line, as the first S7 episodes were good, but felt a bit shallow.

Bonnie's reaction faces were really top tier during the miniseries, especially pic related.
8/10 loved it will definitely buy the DVD

I see a lot of people bitching about status quo and how things don't last long enough but isn't PB being dethroned one of the longest lasting changes so far though (apart from stuff that gets forgotten like the thorn and grass sword perhaps)?
