Welp, guess it really was a "return to status quo" thing. Even despite that, was still nice. I laughed, I felt some tension, I felt empathy and sympathy, it was nice. I feel like I'll get flak for this, but, really, "Status Quo" isn't that bad, and, like the song, everything's back to where it was before the beginning of the season, but there are still the changes in attitude and it was a good mini-series. Like a transitioning period from the familiar before and a similar after.
For the miniseries, overall, 8.8 - 9/10, was nice.

The only good episodes were 1, 5 and 7. The rest varied from awful to almost bearable.

No tension, awful pacing, Marceline's character was all over the place, cringey songs. Comedy was pretty damn great though. The best thing about the mini was probably the VK.

It's a really common joke and marceline said it in a way that she doubted. It false under the meaningless mild teasing.

It started okay, it developed itself great and it ended up being only okay again.

Kind of surprised Tom Herpich and Steve Wolfhard wrote the worst episodes while Jesse and Ako wrote the best ones along with Muto and the new storyboard artist. Are they going to make us feel like shit for not liking Jmoyns' episodes at the end of this season?

Overall 7/10.

Overall I enjoyed the miniseries a lot but I am pretty disappointed in how it ended, even if the song and montage at the end was nice.

I mean, it feels like "the status quo will never significantly change" was the moral of this whole thing. So I guess it's good of the show to acknowledge that and let people know, but it's still disappointing. Sort of kills my interest in any future developments.

I feel like Tom's deteriorated like basically everyone else since then. Comparing Steve's solo ep (Graybles 1000) with Tom's Walnuts and Rain Herpich's one is kind of stinky.

He used to be amazing like nearly everyone else boarding but that was a while back.

I'd say more the real "changes" are that: Marceline's less of a mess about being a vampire and being a loner, PB's less of a mess about being in charge of the candy people and maybe even being proud of them, and something in there about how the Flame Kingdom's more of a presence than its ever been.

I hate how half the times she appears it's just emo bullshit apropos of nothing, and by association I'm not a fan of her relationship with Ice King or the "Simon and Marcy" flashbacks, or for that matter anything to do with Simon's history. Or the Bubbline teasing.

She's like a big chunk of the bad aspects of the show.

Also I'm bummed about KOO no longer on the throne, and PB no longer chilling in her shack with her garden citizens. It obviously wasn't going to last, but I was expecting it to stay that way for at least a little longer. Why is it every seemingly big change only lasts a few episodes in this show? It's like they have the capacity to eschew status quo but after a while they puss out anyway. Either kill it in the episode it's introduced or let it hang around for a while. I mean, I have no objection with, say, Clone Wars running for 6 and 1/2 seasons - because even then they had interesting stories to tell, and situations to play out
