Are there any notable working class superheroes without super powers or even augmented super senses, that primarily rely on hand-to-hand martial arts in combat rather than a melee weapon or firearms, and don't have a wealthy benefactor, like a government agency or a billionaire hero, backing them or involved in their origins/training?
Best I could think of is some of the vigilantes in Watchmen.

I was going to say this.

The Spirit and Steel come to mind.
Easy. The Question.
>no super powers
Check. Just a tough son of a bitch with training in Kung Fu from Richard Dragon
>not wealthy/sponsored
Check. He's an investigative journalist by day and a vigilante by night. The only help he gets is from Tot, who isn't rich either
>no weapons
Check. Not even any gadgets really, aside from his mask and some basic tools like lock picks, glass cutters, and flashlights. And a few sick ass cars, like a VW Bug with a Porsche engine installed. Although I'm not sure if that Pontiac from the cartoon series is ever in the comics.
>>77481184
when you get to that point it's basically a superpower
>>77481140
Not even allowed a melee weapon?
You basically want a random powerless nondescript guy walking around punching things?
>>77481794
>random
>nondescript
Well, he can have a costume and a fun codename like other superheroes.

THIS YOU MOTHERFUCDKER
>>77481140
Nightwing. In several of his runs he had to work random jobs to fund himself and he didn't really take money from Bruce.
>>77481930
Thank you so much. Laughing my ass off.
>>77481930
Working class, doesn't use weapons, two out f three ain't bad.
>>77481184
He has a power and he's wealthy.
Bronze Tiger, Richard Dragon and I think Catman fit the bill.
>>77481140
Apart from not relying on weapons, that's what Green Arrow was for 20 years if not more.
>>77481348
Steel's an industrialist nowadays and uses a hammer in the first place
>>77481140
The Lobster from Hellboy. He sometimes does use firearms, but the rest fits.
Do sidekicks count?
>>77481140
>Best I could think of is some of the vigilantes in Watchmen.
Ozymandias and Nite Owl are rich.
And The Comedian works for the government.
And Doctor Manhattan s basically the most OP thing in that universe.
The only one who fits in your description is Rorschach, who is a rip off of The Question:

Goddamn Objectivists
>>77483554
He used hand to hand more though.
>>77482339
>doesn't have a wealthy benefactor involved in their origins/training
>>77481140
A couple of the Nomads are like that.RIP in peace
D-Man, I think, at least originally
>>77483064
>He has a power
he actually doesn't, he's just REALLY good at karate
>>77481140
Always wanted a comic like this. A more serious version of Kick Ass.
I kind of liked the Shadoweyes approach (yeah, I know, Rossphia Campbell) of having the heroine be pretty aimless and ineffective for a lot of the first half of the story. She basically stumbles into fights, often beats up the wrong person or for the wrong reasons, and takes on like a hundred missing persons cases with zero ways to solve them.
>>77483499
The Minutemen fit the bill even if they also had millionaires and wealthy agencies behind some of them. Nite Owl I was a cop. Hooded Justice worked in a circus,

Saitama does not have any superpowers
>>77483064
>He has a power
No he doesn't. The point of Karate Kid is that he doesn't have a power. He just trained hard in martial arts.
>wealthy
Which version? He's broker than me.

I think in a universe where working out in a tank top is considered a superpower reality breaking strength training can grant superpowers
So does Daredevil border on the edge of super senses?
>>77485032
Daredevil definitely has super-sense and depending on the writer may also have ninja magic
>>77485032
anon I'm gonna lay it all out for you here: blind people don't have any kind of echolocation ability, they just rely on their other senses in a way that appears impossible to people who've never had to do it
Daredevil has super senses
>>77485162
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_echolocation
But they do.
>>77485286
A guy in my city can do it, pretty fucking cool
>>77484924
Except Saitama doesn't have a superpower. His thing is just being really powerful and punching stuff. Genos doesn't either for that matter but he doesn't fit because he's a cyborg(?) with weapons.
>>77485913
>His thing is just being really powerful and punching stuff
Which is his superpower, on he got through training but a superpower nonetheless
>>77486302
It's not a superpower though, that implies it is unnatural. He just worked out to get like that. That's like saying the guys in the world's strongest man competition have a fucking superpower.
>>77486655
If the worlds strongest man was 100 times the strength of the second strongest man I would consider him to have a superpower. Saitama's power isn't natural. Tons of other people in his universe work out and no one is at his level
>>77487189
>Saitama's power isn't natural because tons of other people in his universe work out
How do you know this? A lot of people don't work out like Saitama. Genos doesn't count either because he's a cyborg.
From what I recall there's other people without superpowers in the city but I have to re read the manga.
>>77487189
That doesn't make it a superpower.
>A lot of people don't work out like Saitama
100 push ups, squats and sit ups and a run every day.
There are REAL humans who do more than that.

Why is evil drawn so much more fun and interesting than good?
>>77487799
Because evil is tempting and comes in many forms.
