Hi guys comic book virgin here. What Teen titans series should I start from? Other then the older Teen Titans cartoon I never had much exposure to the series but Raven was my favourite. I also recently watch all the young justice series and really liked it but it felt like it was trying to push to many plot twists.
Wolfman and Perez's New Teen Titans.
DC has been rereleasing the trades for a good price too. The first three trades are out now collecting the first 20 issues.
Wolfman and Perez New Teen Titans. You should never read any other Titans, that's the only time they were good.

Lobdell's, of course!

Jeez Kory I don't care if you are from Planet Retard, don't line up to take a shit on your friends just because they're sitting down

This
Geoff Johns' Teen Titans is an okay place to start too.
But if you want more of the Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Superboy, and Robin from that series then see if you can find Young Justice by Peter David.
Other than that, comic Teen Titans are mostly horrible.
Oh and Wolfman/Perez NTT has very few things in common with the show.
Pretty much these two

Avoid everything because it's varying degrees of terrible. Between Deathstroke hijacking the Titans and making it into a book about villains (Which caused me to drop it), or the ceaseless trainwreck that is the New 52 Titans, nobody knows what to do with these characters

Sounds great. So putting Teen Titans aside what other series would you recommend for me. Something with intrigued, action character development the entire shebang?
>>77462009
Any specific genre?
>>77462062
Don't really know what I want so anything goes. I just remembered that I have read few comic books before and I did really enjoy watchmen and V for vendetta.
>>77462009
Peter David's Young Justice. It has what you're looking for and is also pretty damn funny, with the best versions of Tim, Bart, and Superboy.Anyone got more highlights, I fell behind on that storytime and by the time I could feasibly catch up, the archive died
>>77462204
Sounds great . Surely will have a look
>>77462204
Dc specifically? Otherwise there's some other teen books I know about that might be interesting to you. Deadly Class currently ongoing at Image, Runaways from Marvel, New X-Men second volume into New X-men second volume ~2004 from Marvel. That kinda stuff.

Since you have no attachment to Young Justice the comic, read the Johns run from 2004. It's good for like 40ish issues. Abandon ship when Johns leaves.
THEN go read YJ and Graduation Day to get all pisssed.

Fuck it, storytiming Johns's TT#1
background info: Donna Troy/Trioa, formerly Wonder Girl just bit the dust

Grayson
Omega Men
Midnighter
Martian Manhunter
That should be a good start of current comics for anyone.

i just forgot how bad this comic was. Johns' Titans honestly wasn't ever good to me because Johns had trouble finding voices for everybody and some of the arcs were fucking stupid. I love the guy and I love wolfman perez titans but man when this was coming out I just didn't click with it

I picked it up this year actually. I was in my local school library bored out of my mind (Lot of time with nothing to do) and I came across the first volume and just started reading

I always get confused, was Johns the one that introduced Kid Devil (At least him on the Titans), or was it another writer
>>77463895
And Geoff injects his fanfic into canon. As a fan of the Death and Return of Superman (stop throwing rocks I was really young.) I hated this at first but got more OK with it. It does define nuKon for the rest of his character which might attest to a weak characterization, sure. Hey, this shit is nowhere near the current state of any of the Titans.
If there's interest, I think I have the time to either keep going or do the best arc of this run, IMO, the Titans Tomorrow and crossover with the Legion of Super-Heroes.
>>77463930
Johns, though he leaves like two arcs later.
>>77464018
Okay, just curious. Who was the one who killed him off though, or was it still Johns?
>>77464073
Don't know. Only have up to #49, and he's alive. For some reason, I have the only the cover of #50, and he's on it.
>>77464176
Didn't mean to spoil it.

Beast Boy is cosplaying as Cringer!
Generally avoid Teen Titans and go read Young Justice.
