Foggernauts are entropy powered robots but they're linked to Osamodas; Masqueraiders use magic masks but they're linked to Sadida (and Iop); Rouges are just normal people with guns but they're linked to Sram. Looking at the commandments, which admittingly might not be the best guide. It depends on how far they take the commandment of playing dirty tricks, and wearing your best scarf on raiding days could be interpreted as you should raid and steal. You know what would be cool? If Ankama went back to their original ideas with Wakfu and gave us crossclass character options and religious factions.

They've gotten way too big for Tot to oversee everything, but I get the feeling he still has the final word on most projects. That could lead to him making bad decisions due to not knowing enough about each, or to things going off track because he can't supervise everything as closely as it needs. I know they have teams working on lore and individual departments for each media, but I don't know how well the whole think communicates together.

I feel like they've reached a critical mass where everything could collapse if they don't have the proper structure to support it. And management has never been Ankama's strong suit, so it's worrying.

In the case of Slage, Tot had actually wanted to pull the plug one year before they finally did because he already saw that things weren't going according to plan, but the other directors wanted to give it a chance. A year later they all agreed to kill it. That's a lot of wasted time and money that could have been avoided if either the team had been kept on a tighter leash or Tot had had the authority to veto his decision as soon as he saw it wasn't going to work.

They need to have competent people in place to take some of the decision-making out of his hands without screwing things up. With all the writing he still does for the various series and manga, he can't keep overseeing the shitload of projects the company has going in parallel. He needs to be able to rely on other people making decisions and reporting to him.

It's because the morons keep switching out devs every couple months these days. The new devs have their own "vision" they want to implement into the game, while neglecting all the stuff people actually liked, wanted, or fixed. And it's not just their fault either, you can tell some of the old devs didn't give a shit about teaching the new ones about the game properly before they left.

Also that faggot Tot just goes full retard sometimes when it comes to lore. See: Wakfu Foggernauts in game, the implementation of Eliotropes over dimensional voyagers, the god Sram plot that went nowhere, and the scrapped zinit story line.

Also another thing about devs is they add something new, then get rid of it, while keeping the relics of the old content in game. Mobile Arenas, Wakfu/Stasis zones, those prisms that have never done anything. Oh right, the dupe bug that I've used every now and then.

We used to have a Wakfu rep come visit the threads on /vg/ too, but that's long gone now.

A few people have watched the movie today, and there's a thread in the forum to leave feedback on it (spoilers are banned, of course).
There aren't many comments yet (and probably won't be too many, since it was limited access) but all comments I've read (including one from a Wakfu fansite) are praising the movie.

Of course, since there's only a few and probably from big fans, they're not too trustworthy, so take it as you like.

Here's all the info we know about Dofus's huppermages:
They're a secret sect of magicians that can use all 4 elements to create their own kind of magic. Bonta's king's advisor is the leader of Bonta's Huppermages, who protect the city, and have decided to make the sect public.
Nonetheless, those aren't the only huppermages, and other cities such as Brakmar have their own huppermages too (so yeah, no other "brakmar class", and Xyale already said Ouginaks aren't planned, at least for this year).
The Dofus movie has more info about huppermages (both Bonta's and Brakmar's).

The Wakfu Huppermages still haven't been shown, but from the last entry we know that they're still a secret sect, and a drunk pandawa's announcing their comeback.

We won't get any news until at least monday, but a devblog about how the class exactly works ingame should be coming sooner or later.

That's why he's my favorite character in the brotherhood. Even after he reincarnated, Iop was able to learn from his mistakes and grow up, unlike a lot of other gods who are very set in their ways . We know that Goultard is capable of transferring the godly powers back to Tristepin, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens with that. Ok so I just recently picked up wakfu and I'm not even sure I'm playing it right.

I choose my class (sram) and play the tutorial fine and dandy. I got some story shit with a massive TV and then was left to my own devises.

What the fuck do you do after this? I literally just kept doing bounty missions over and over again and my biggest upgrade in gear was after begging a high level player to give me their trash.

What's the point of this game? is there even a story? is it really just crafting until your eyes are sore? cuz I fucking hate crafting in games.

Combat is good sure. but that aint gonna mean nothing if the only proggess I can get is crafting (and it's kinda late for that since I'm at level 20 and my crafting classes are completely untouched)

You can avoid crafting in Dofus. Unlike in Wakfu where you get all the professions, in Dofus you choose 3 you can get to 100. You can also search out crafters much easier in that game, and they have a system that prevents your items/kamas from being stolen.

I really, really dig Julith's character design. Sure, it's hard to judge just from mere screenshots, and the actual movie might prove me wrong, but it really feels like they've managed to pull a strong and competent female character design, without going the gurl power full retard path.

Eliatropes could follow the adventures of Yugo through zaaps, that's pretty much the main story.
Then, near the end of Season 1, the whole stuff with N happened. I'm not 100% sure to remember correctly, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. I liked it back then, but I was an edgy teenager, not sure if I'd like it as much if it happened now. Long story short, N had suspicions that Emrub wasn't everything that existed, but the other eliatropes ignored him. When Nox turned back in time, a small space-time rift opened and N jumped through it, arriving to the Dofus era.
He met Harebourg and he accepted to help him with experiments, but after Djaul stopped time in Frigost N was abandoned, left alone trying to find a way back, and developped ice powers.
Eventually he got back, and told the other eliatropes the truth, but they still couldn't believe him and he became agressive, so they trapped and blindfolded him. During this time he became batshit insane and started getting more and more powerful. Finally, he escaped and attacked Baltazar, the dragon that protected Emrub and told the eliatropes there was nothing else. You could choose N or Baltazar's side. In the end, N sacrificed himself and blew up Emrub, leading the eliatropes to some kind of inter-dimensional place (I never understood it entirely), where they actually learned the truth.

Then we have Les Gardiens 2, which then again is about following the story of the series, but you can even interact with characters from the show. In the sidequests you help the eliatropes create a portal to the World of 12, and finally you got a cutscene of various eliatropes there.
There were also some kind of sect of dark eliatropes, but the game got abandoned before they ever explained it.

I never got a chance to play the first season, but to the best of my knowledge, this is accurate.

I wasn't all that interested in the game as far as the gameplay is concerned, but design-wise it was a solid game as you mentioned, and they did impressive work considering how little time they had between episodes. The players there were very much in love with the game even though I never found out what kept them playing after each week's dungeon was done. Maybe hat crafting.

I also liked the NPC designs, both for their appearance and their distinct personalities. The way they all had their obvious archetype reminds me a bit of some children's stories that use animals to personify certain personality traits, and it worked well for this kind of setting. And above all, they seemed to have an interesting story going with well thought-out intrigue developing throughout the season.

It should work for any somewhat recent android phone (if it runs 4.4 or higher, you're probably good to go). To use the wallpaper, you need KLWP Pro to read the zip file, and a compatible launcher (Nova or Apex launcher, some others may work too) to display it. There shouldn't be any major tricks to installing the wallpaper. Theoretically, once you install KLWP pro, your phone should have a folder titled "Kustom". Dumping the .zip file somewhere in there should allow the program to find it easily. From there, import the .zip file and set it as the desktop.

As for screen resolution, I'm not sure how it will work. Theoretically the wallpaper will scale appropriately, but there's a chance a bunch of the pieces will scale improperly. This was one of my main concerns when posting it. I'm hoping someone will tell me if it scales poorly so I can maybe fix it.

I can see where you're coming from. It's tough to flesh out two new characters in only 13 episodes, especially when you already have a cast that's been fleshed out through two seasons and 3 OVAs. Considering Tot wants to age everyone up a bit I'd be okay with them being minor characters. In the OVA's they revealed that Elely inherited some of Grovy's divine abilities, so I'd be shocked if they didn't expand on that.

I wouldn't be so sure yet. The only good thing about that was that they cut off his arm at the end and in doing so, knocked him back down to a reasonable brotherhood-tier powerlevel. The powers were a plot device used to help grovy grow as a character and get his priorities straightened out. Lets just hope he doesn't get them back.

Yugo's stupid decisions and powerlevel is an entirely different mess. Fucking hell he's beyond hope.

Eliotropes disappear from memory and history once they die. They return to the source or some shit. I'll try and take some screencaps of their class book when I get home. Essentially in the ten years from the game to the show, all Eliotropes died out and disappeared, so no one knows about them. The other thing about them is they all look alike. You can't change their hairstyles in Wakfu like the other classes, since they are meant to be Yugo copies. Even robo Foggers get that niche. All in all, Eliotropes were a lazy addition to the game, simply because a new dev saw the show for the first time and decided Yugo was his waifu.

Plans for a Wakfu movie are as old as plans for a Dofus movie, as this image shows. Concrete plans, however, have changed a lot and I'm not 100% sure that the OVAs and/or season 3 haven't replaced the movie in Tot's mind.

It's just annoying because we go through 160 levels and 3 god dimensions getting hyped up about a new class everyone assumed was going to be Dimensional Explorers/Voyagers. Back when the beta client was only for subbed players, we even got to play as them for a bit. Essentially what you see Eliotropes doing, Voyagers did. And then we get a hamfisted story about Eliotropes. Shit came out of nowhere, especially when they said for years we were never gonna get Eliatropes in game. They used the "hur dur it has an O!" bullshit to justify it too. After that the whole build up where we are supposed to fight God Sram just ends, not resolution or anything. Watching the show and thinking "kek, my toon killed God Sram" would have been satisfying for players too since most of the gods are dead/dying.

No, that was actually a textureless eliotrope. I was one of the ones that wished Dimensional Voyagers were the new class, but they didn't make much more sense than Eliatropes as a playing class actually. Also, the "there'll never be any eliatropes in the game" was stated years ago, it was no wonder they'd change their minds one day.
As for the end of God Dimensions, that was the fault of bad planning and thousands of other stuff to work on that made them stop working on it.

Ankama's idea for exposition so far has been one shot characters and new supporting leads. e.g. Cleophee was frustrating not just for sexual tension reasons.

It probably works for a kids show but they can't keep doing this and expect people to stay invested.

Also, some of the one shots (Frida, the Bellaphones, Kriss Krass obviously) are too interesting to not bring back again. Just as long as it doesn't turn into every episode starring them.

But this is a problematic concept in itself - are all memories of what Eliotrope's interactions of the world caused altered to an alternate explanation? Surely that couldn't work for everything, what if an Eliotrope started a war or something - it couldn't get 'retconned' to another race because both races would have the real memories of what their race was doing at that time if all that simply happens is that memories involving an Eliotrope are forgotten

All traces of their existence disappear. That's all that's known, so you can assume that anything written about them gets erased like suddenly the words disappear. If they had a statue that just said Eliotrope under it, without the likeliness of any of them, than it might stay. But if the statue had a name, and a specific face, maybe it'll turn to dust? Also, Eliotropes all look like Yugo, whether male or female.

It is, although as you can see in pic related, they are not actually elves. Zone's Flash animation Wackfuck is based on episode 6 of Wakfu season 1.

You'll be happy to know that the fansubs for Wakfu season 2 and Dofus include a French subtitle track if you would like to follow along. Unfortunately Wakfu S1 does not have them. You may also be able to set up Netflix to show you French subs on either dub (but be advised that most people find the English dub atrocious, and the official subs are based on it and also quite bad).
