It was ordered in the store. Put out on the shelf. Nobody bought a copy of either book. After a couple issues, you have to cut your losses. No point to keep ordering it if nobody wanted it and nobody asks for it.

My store doesn't get Savage Dragon either. There are hundreds of books a month for people to choose from, some just aren't very desirable.

People, please keep in mind that "flop" is RELATIVE.

Lumberjanes sells considerably under 10K copies a month, yet that comic is a major indie darling that isn't going to be cancelled anytime soon. Meanwhile the comic book community had to basically bully that chickenshit company DC into letting Omega Men run its fucking course, and are now cutting Prez in half to ride the coattails of the election, despite both those books selling higher than many important indie books.

I am not worried about Island at the moment.

Well, the PC market is becoming increasingly hostile to actual artists, but that's Steam's faut.

The fact is, consoles can still sustain these developers if they only had the brain to develop for them.

By the same token, if independent publishers could drive it home to people to buy all their comics digitally, they could remove Diamond from the equation and make more money off of less (or maybe even the same) sales.

This, of course, would take a considerable marketing push. But hey, what is Amazon if not a billion dollar corporation?
