The Date was one episode and it acknowledged that Wander using Sylvia for that was wrong. This is a whole story arch that's gonna happen for several episodes. They've also done nothing to indicate that Wander going from "Dominator is not worth befriending and is dangerous" to "GIRL = DATING MATERIAL" is wrong. Sylvia also had her own character established long before the Date, whereas Dom was supposed to be this intimidating villain, when she's now just used as a prop for Hater with no foreseeable motive or character.

Fucking great. The entire episode fit with the theme of what Craigen said, "The road to ruin is paved with good intention". Sylvia was godly in this episode and Wander was amusing on his own rights. The episode title repeating gag got a BIT old, but the references to other episodes, like "The Toddler", "The Nice Guy" and "The Box" were nice, and angry Wander and that chase scene got plenty of laughs from me. It also showed how smart Wander is despite everything and reinforces the idea that he may act dumb, but isn't.

Sad to say, but this may be the first WOY episode that I am calling, bad. Yeah, the Hatermobile commercial and Peepers were great in it, but that's about it. Hater was flat out intolerable in this episode, especially with the start of him saying he wants to both "marry" AND "destroy" Dominator, but not for the reason of that being a annoying line. The reason I hate Hater was because this could of been a Batman/Catwoman like relationship Hater and Dominator could of had, with the prize being the greatest in the galaxy. And I'm sorry waifufags, but Dominator is just plain BORING to me. Oh, she can defeat Hater by manipulating him and only showed like a couple seconds of being impressed, but went back to being the perfect non-caring villain who easily kicked everyones asses...again? Big whoop. I could just read up on Sinfests adventures of "Codename: G.U.R." if I wanted that. And plus, it just re-tells what we already know about Lord Dominator. If Hater, say, turned the laser on his car in the last second and froze it with Dominator inside, and flirted with her/teased her on the outside, I would of been a bit more lenient on this episode. But, as it stands, and if more episodes follow this format, I have to say that this is probably the first ever episode of Wander Over Yonder I consider bad, and to put that in perspective, I put up with just calling "The Helper" meh at best and enjoying "The Picnic".

So when should we expect a mega?

But that's the whole point. SHE hasn't changed, Hater just noticed she had a pair of tits and went crazy. WANDER being focused on trying to find/force the good in people hasn't changed, he's just found a new way to be in denial about Dominator.

And from Dominator's perspective...the one guy in the galaxy who might be able to take you in a fight just showed a massive, glaring weakness. I mean watch the fight again, there were a couple times Hater HAD her, especially the choke hold with his lightning, until Wander fucked it up. She'd have to be stupid NOT to exploit it.

Considering this show is supposed to be free from romance and all about showing the power of platonic friendship, this is a buzzkill. The Toy Maker wasn't funny, Hater was annoying, and Dominator still has no purpose or character beyond being wacky, evil, and probably there as a plot device.

I don't think i'm comming from a place of bias when i say i really liked both episodes. Seeing the matchmaker playing with all of the title cards and different character designs was cool and I really liked how the villains actually have an impact on whatever system they conquer, like the Dom bots in the subway. It makes the universe seem more believable. Also, it's always great to see Wander being clever instead of completely blind by optimism (albeit the whole matchmaking premise is fairly blind optimism, but flaws are what make interesting characters).

Contrary to what a different anon said, I much preferred the New Toy. The whole commercial was hilarious and seeing life action thrown in was really cool. I just think the whole idea of Hater trying to impress Dom while Peepers and the watchdogs tried to take her down led to some memorable gags. Honestly, my only problem is that they keep forgetting to/choosing not to make Hater's mouth/teeth rigid, I think that design works best for him.


I know that the show might be focusing on other things rather than what some anons want, but i hope we can continue to get along. These episodes themselves are something for me to look forward to every week, but also coming to these threads and having fun with you guys! I know some of you are upset and it's totally valid, but it just makes me sad we don't have as much fun together as we used to. I hope the next episodes make you guys smile as much as these episodes made me smile.
