From what I've gathered there had been an alleged racist incident at the school recently and a select group of students sends out an email telling everybody not to wear an offencive costumes. Even going so far as to ask the school to ban offencive costumes. The wife of the dean, also a employee at the school, sends out a letter telling everybody that the school would not dictate what the students would wear as a costumes.
