Feel free to correct anything that isn't too much of a spoiler, although I do know some of the things that happen later in the series cause of wiki-crawling.

I will update that pastebin until it's full and start another one after that, if there's still interest. Probably even if not, just to have a complete review-guide from someone who watched it in the chronological order after it was finished.

Suppose I was working on a dynamic campaign mode for an engine upgrade for X-Wing/TIE Fighter.

What features should it have?

So far the plan is:

>Planets in the galaxy can hold a base
>Each base has a roster of pilots and an inventory of craft and munitions
>There are also factories that produce said craft and munitions
>Losing factories means you can't get replacement craft as quickly
>Randomly generated missions to attack enemy bases/ defend friendly bases/intercept enemy cargo

Anything you'd like to see? Or does nobody here play these kind of games?

Basically I want to try adding a dynamic campaign like IL-2 or Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe to X-Wing and TIE Fighter

Watching Episode II and also The Clone Wars movie, what is that ship used by Obi-wan to go to Kamino/Geonosis and Tatooine respectively? The ring one.

I mean, why is it a ring? Why can't Obi-wan just use a normal ship? Isn't it dangerous leaving a peace of ship in a planet's orbit? Why does Obi-wan like it?
>>
>>77340060
Its the Jedi Fighters Jump Ring. Space is big enough and its small enough it probably won't be found.
Not sure why, maybe to make the fighters a lot smaller?
>>
>>77340060
Jedi Starfighters can't make the jump to hyperspace on their own, they have to connect to a hyperspace ring which they detach to fly within a planet's atmosphere or dogfight
>>
>>77340060
It's a jedi starfighter. It doesn't have a hyperdrive naturally, so it needs a hyperdrive ring in order to actually get to hyperdrive

Damn she looked good.

>>77338973

>>
>>77340060
It was supposed to be a noticeable difference in tech level between the PT and the OT. You'll notice that only expensive starfighters like the N-1s have their own hyperdrives during the PT. Droid and clone starfighters couldn't jump to hyperspace on their own because the tech just wasn't cheap enough for that size of mass-produced ship yet. Only freighters, passenger craft and warships had their own hyperdrives. Then in the OT, we see all sorts of smaller rebel starfighters with their own hyperdrives. All the alphabet wings jump independently of their carriers into Endor and Luke's X-Wing can go anywhere the Falcon can. So we get a little hint that technology has advanced a little in the last 20 years.

idk man. They were a good size for subterfuge and great in space battle and jedi have other ships for multiple people.

>>77340396
idk, probably an x-wing or whatever the republic was using. Its stated that Anakin did make a miniature hyper drive. Though it wasn't great because of the size you couldn't jump very far because of fuel and such.

Really all it does is generate a custom mission file. Information outside the game is then updated defending on how the mission went. (Territory gained/lost, pilots gaining experience, craft losses, etc)

Initially I'll just replicate the campaign mode of the WWII flight sim game Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, as it is made by the same devs as X-Wing/TIE Fighter and therefore is probably what the mode would have been like if it was implemented in those games

TOR has already been explicitly confirmed to be Legends.

IF Revan were to be recanonized, the LSG would create a new version of Revan for the new canon. Reimagination seems to be the standard, rather than direct recanonization. Old ideas get reinterpreted, not restored in their existing forms.

>So we get a little hint that technology has advanced a little in the last 20 years.

I respectively disagree. From the Clone Wars era to the fall of the Empire, it looks like the galaxy went into a huge technological regression. Things just looked so much more advanced and sophisticated before the Empire took over.

As for the those fighters going into hyperspace before Endor. I always figured they did so because they were hanging close to the big ships, and didn't actually have hyperdrives.
>>
>>77345462
>Things just looked so much more advanced and sophisticated before the Empire took over.
This simply isn't true. Coruscant, Naboo, Bespin?

Only reason the OT feels "technologically regressed" is because the majority of it takes place on shithole planets like Tatooine and Dagobah, and from the viewpoint of the Rebels who were using mostly scraps.

The Clone War Era feels more advanced because we spend more time on worlds like Coruscant, is all. There's still shitholes like Ryloth and such.

I know this feel.

Like, if anything, I'm more angry about Battlefront than any of my friends. I ended up buying both a PSP and an Xbox 360 for the sole purpose of playing Battlefront 3 and I am furious at Dice's inability to make a game the fans were asking for.

But despite that, what Dice has made does look fun, and I will play it because it's a freaking Star Wars shooter that feels awesome, and then I get people who barely even like Star Wars bitching to me about it.

Like shit, I KNOW there should have been Clones and Space and shit, get off my back. I just wanna have fun with what we got.

So if you train a padawan you become a Jedi Master.

But not all Masters sit on the Council, or does it have a rotating membership?
>>
>>77345910
No, this has never been confirmed, and considering how few Jedi Masters there are compared to knights, seems unlikely, though training a Padawan might be in the checklist, as it were.
>>
does ANYONE have Insider 161 yet?
>>
>>77345959
It's considered Legends now but the book The Jedi Path mentions training a Padawan as a requirement, but there's no exact requirements mentioned, though it also says "extraordinary service to the Republic" and completing a much harder version of the trials to reach Knighthood as possible ways to become a Master.
>>
>>77345462
Is spatial proximity hyperspace jumping a thing in Star Wars? I didn't think it could work like that.

But no, Luke hyperspaces in his X-Wing alone throughout V and VI, and a bunch of fighters jump right after the Falcon but before the capital ships into the Battle of Endor. Ever rebel fighter has its own hyperdrive. I'm not sure if the A-Wings in Rebels do yet, or if they require a linkup with the corvettes in order to jump. But it's another thing the Rebels can install in them over the next 5 years.
>>

They can also use that time to upgrade the A-Wings so they don't suck and die against TIEs anymore.

Lore's always been sketchy about what constitutes being a Master compared to a Knight. Training a padawan successfully seems to be a big part of the checklist to get promoted to Master, but there seem to be different ways to get the title. And the Council seems to have a rotating membership around a core of veterans like Yoda, Windu, and Mundi. In the Kanan comic, it seemed like Obiwan was giving his seat back to Depa when she recovered. Smooth, Ben. Real smooth.

Instead I got "My whole purpose in life is to have this clones baby" and "How dare that Padawan defend himself from clones trying to kill him, I better go show him what for." and then the description of what happens was pretty bad and she was either cut down by the Padawan or shot by Clones. Been rewatching the saga in chronological order. I have some thoughts on the prequels.

Basically, I think people really misunderstood these movies and what Lucas wanted to convey. And he's certainly partially to blame for that. The things people most frequently criticize, such as the wooden acting and bad dialogue (these things are at their worst in Phantom menace), occasionally lazy and flat directing style, or poor composition between real actors and computer-assisted imagery (I know the sets were miniatures) are perfectly valid.

It's the other, more nitpicky things I have come to forgive. A lot of people, especially RLM, have a tendency to criticize the movies based on what they think Star Wars should or shouldn't be. And I don't really think that's fair. I have come to like the different aspects of the prequels and I think provide an interesting contrast to the OT, especially in light of all the poetic rhyming Lucas is so fond of including. I don't begrudge anyone who disagrees with me but I found that after I stopped trying to force a particular view of what Star Wars is and just accepted the prequels as part of it I was able to find a lot more to enjoy in them than I had previously thought. There's a lot of cool subtext and pathos.

Anyway I've really enjoyed watching the films in chronological order. Honestly, if Jedi had managed to top Empire, you would genuinely be able to say that the saga gets better with each movie.

I think her main issue is a complete lack of self restraint with her personal biases.
The mandalorians, for example, aren't just a culture of good soldier, they're the BEST. The Jedi aren't just blinkered, they're utterly ignorant. Dr, Halsey isn't just making morally murky choices and backed by unscrupulous superiors, she's a borderline sociopath and her superiors somehow remain utterly squeaky clean and innocent.
She just doesn't know how to do things in degrees.

It's especially bad when you compare her to people that do have blatant biases, but manage to write restrained work despite it (Filoni probably being the best example of this).

His ideas were shit. What doesn't make sense about that? The primary reason why people don't like the prequels, is because they are terrible films. Pretty much every new element of the setting they introduce is bad. And clearly didn't have any thought put into them. Lucas very clearly shat out the scripts for the prequels. People get angry at the changes because the changes are all bad.
This isn't about headcanon, this is about quality.

Another telling thing for me is, if you go back and open a copy of George's 1976 novelization of Star Wars (ghostwritten by Alan Dean Foster) the first thing you're greeted by is a prologue summarizing the fall of the Old Republic. And it's all right there. The entire basic plot of the prequels, minus the character details. And it matches up pretty fucking well with the movies themselves. George even said this back in the 90s. Only difference is that Palpatine is portrayed as a docile fool controlled by bureaucrats, so George changed his mind about that. But even then isn't it possible that people in the galaxy would have that view of Palpatine? And wouldn't Palpatine be the type to allow, if not outright encourage such a view, at least to the general populace? It allows him to continue working from the shadows as he's grown so fond of doing.

So he always knew what he wanted to do with the prequels. People just weren't prepared for it. It's basically a big case of "Not muh Star Wars."

>>
>>77347578
>The primary reason why people don't like the prequels, is because they are terrible films

Nah. Phantom Menace is pretty bad, AOTC has a really grating subplot. ROTS is really not bad, it just has annoying bits.

A big reason people hated the prequels back in the day was the overuse of computer-generated special effects. When you live in a world where a new superhero movie with a video game climax comes out every few months, and people STILL get excited for it, you start to forgive some of those old criticisms of the prequels.

The overzealous hatred of them is really tiring at this point though. You need to take a chill pill dude.
>>
>>77347624
I think that most people believe that the world itself is great, brimming with potential, it was just handled terribly for the films themselves. George Lucas has great ideas, he should just never be able to execute them without help.

I don't think there he made any missteps as far as the story is concerned though. It's just his lazy direction and shoddy dialogue.

But for instance, a lot of people don't see the point of Qui-Gon and think it should have just been Obi and Ani from the get-go. But Qui-Gon becomes an important part of the story from a certain point of view.

Qui-Gon is a maverick and Obi-Wan is more by the book. But Obi-Wan takes a lot of Qui-Gon's teachings to heart. This is evident in AOTC and ROTS, Obi-Wan personally is a very live-in-the-moment kind of dude. But Obi-Wan doesn't have that connection to the Force that Qui-Gon did. In a sense, you could say that Obi-Wan learned the right lessons in the wrong way.

So now Obi is teaching Ani, and Ani needs more of a maverick like Qui-Gon, a master who understands the connection between the living force and the unifying force. Obi-Wan never got this fully, so he struggles with teaching Anakin, and he comes off as a huge hypocrite that rather selfishly only follows Qui-Gon's teachings when he doesn't have Anakin around. That's the wrong attitude for a Jedi to have.

This is a really important thing that sets the stage not only for Anakin's downfall but for the way both Obi-Wan and Yoda treat Luke. But a lot of people don't understand this and just think the movies should have had Obi and Ani be buddy buddy until Anakin tragically falls to the Dark Side, because that's what Obi says in ANH. But they forget that's the "certain point of view" scene where Obi is talking up Luke's dad to him.
>>
>>77347740
Yes, I know all about the miniature sets. The composition of them was still mishandled by computers. It's still a shoddy digital mixing of two practical things. I think it's fair to call the end result computer generated imagery.
>>
>>77347809
The thing that always bothered me about the prequels is the inconsistency. The stories Obi-Wan tells Luke made the Jedi order sound like the Knights of the Round Table or some other order of loosely affiliated adult warriors who follow a code/share beliefs, not a chaste monastery that trains children and promotes complete bland emotionlessness.

And Obi-Wan said Yoda trained him, there was no Qui-Gon.
>>
>>77347809
I feel the problem with Anakin and Obi-Wan never being buddy buddy is that removes any emotion from the final fight and as Anakin is nothing but a socipathic dick the whole way through the idea that Luke could redeem him becomes laughable, as there was never anything there to begin with.

>>
>>77347882
I don't know, I think it's clear that Anakin is a good person at heart. Or at least it's clear that he's a loving person on a personal level (and that's what causes him to turn against the Emperor, remember). But the Jedi, especially Obi-Wan, failed him. Obi-Wan says as much in ROTS.

But in ROTS (and TCW, though it's irrelevant to the movies themselves) you see that after Anakin graduated to Jedi Knight they became much closer. Qui-Gon died, leaving Obi-Wan an ill-equipped teacher and Anakin a particular frustrating student. Thus Palpatine was allowed to fill the void left by Qui-Gon and exert his influence over Anakin by encouraging in him all the wrong things. This is pretty clear in AOTC and ROTS.

That children were not a part of the thing, these guys were companions on the battlefield. When someone says "when I met him, he was already a great pilot", you don't expect Lucas to have a 10 year old piloting a fucking fighter.

I'm sick of this argument. If they were supposed to be Tatooine clothes, then why did Yoda and the spirit of Anakin wear them?

You're delusional. The films are bad. They are terrible stories. Pretty much every facet of their execution is flawed, but above all else, they are bad stories. Very, very bad stories. That's it. That's enough. Nothing you are saying is any kind of counter to that. It's all beside the point. The main complaint people have about the prequels is that they are badly written. Which they are.
None of what you are saying matters. I don't know what point you think you're making. I can only surmise that your'e basically replying to a strawman that you have created, because you are completely incapable of forming any response to the real complaints people actually have.

It has plenty of bad parts just like the others.

>most of the shlock on the Invisible Hand
>Palpatine turning Anakin evil with little to no effort (you can see it in his face, he's constantly like "damn this kid is really buying into my bullshit I don't even have to try")
>bad dialogue (MUH YOUNGLINGS)

But I wouldn't call it a really bad movie on the whole. Not when the last decade has seen so many more awful movies.

>>77348158
>Maybe it depends on how old you are when you see the movies

I mean, I was watching the OT long before I watched the prequels, and I went through a really long stint where I HATED the prequels.

>those white robes were supposed to be Tattooine-wear, NOT a Jedi uniform

Nah dude, they were always Jedi robes. Obi-Wan's outfit is similar to Tattooine robes but it has distinct Jedi trappings like tabards and an obi that Luke and Owen lack. Lots of characters in Star Wars wear robes, including the Jedi.

>that the Jedi Knights were, y'know, knights, not monks

Didn't ESB start the monk trend though? Yoda introduces a lot of those elements.

And I would say most of the prequel Jedi, especially Obi and Ani, are very knight-like in their actions rather than monk-like. They're basically adventuring crusaders, the deeper stuff about the Force goes ignored by them.

I don't think that excuses the prequels. From a pure film making standpoint they are bad films, Star Wars or not.

If they weren't SW films they would have been forgotten like every other shitty sci-fi film, but because they are SW they create this massive shit storm between people who feel like they raped their childhood and those who must defend everything Lucas does.

Yoda's advice in ESB was more like "don't leave before your training is done because you need to be calm to use force powers and you''re not ready for all this heavy shit and getting emotional will get you killed", as opposed to the Jedi philosophy in the prequels being full-on "don't have attachments to people at all ever" bullshit.
>>
>>77348267

The bad writing is primarily in the dialogue and the crawls. For the most part, there's nothing wrong with the plots, just with how information is delivered to the audience. A dialogue re-write by someone who's better at dialogue would actually fix the vast majority of the issues, and a few pretty minor changes would fix the rest.

For instance, The Phantom Menace would be dramatically improved by having Obi-Wan go into Mos Espa instead of Qui-Gon, with Qui-Gon kept up to date via comlink. If they comm more frequently, you can even maintain the "he's the chosen one!" "are you sure, master?" dynamic going, just based on Qui-Gon telling Obi-Wan what to watch for and test for.

Sending Obi-Wan in centers most of the action of the film on Obi-Wan and finally gives the film a clear protagonist. It also gives more room to show the audience Obi-Wan's arc.

Similarly, Attack of the Clones would be greatly improved by not only a dialogue re-write, but by cutting quite a bit from Geonosis. The thing that makes the love story bad is the fact that the dialogue is so terrible that there's nothing charming or romantic about it; fixing the dialogue fixes the love story, but it doesn't fix the serious pacing problems on Geonosis.

Both segments of the arena battle run on far too long and are just exhausting to watch, and the droid factory isn't much better. Significantly shortening them would be a great improvement, especially considering that these three action sequences happen back-to-back with effectively no breaks and no lulls.

Why are you attacking me instead of responding to my points? I never said the prequels are great movies, in fact I said that the big criticisms are still perfectly valid. I'm simply saying that much of the nitpicking comes down to people expecting one thing and getting another, despite what was in Lucas' head all the way back in 76. That has nothing to do with the bland acting, heavy-handed writing, lazy cinematography, or subpar special effects.

If you want actual discussion, please, feel free to join in. Your overzealous ad hominem is unwarranted however.

>>77348185
Episode 1 is a pretty good counterpoint. Shmi says Anakin gives freely with no thought of reward. But Obi-wan and the Jedi failed him and Palpatine filled his head with delusions of grandeur.

And yeah, his courtship and relationship with Padme is incredibly forced. You'll get no argument from me there. But as far as the story is concerned he still cares about her.

>>77348406
You're entitled to your opinion and if you want to elaborate on the objective failings of the prequels by all means, go ahead. I'm sure I would agree with much of your assessment, I do not think they are great movies nor do I feel compelled to defend everything Lucas has produced. I am simply saying that after extensive consideration, I don't think they are the cinematic abortions that so many claim them to be.

>>77348473
The Jedi are portrayed as being correct though, and I like that bit of nuance. They became arrogant and in many ways ignorant, and fell from grace.

>"Excitement, adventure. A Jedi craves not these things!"

And yet what do Anakin and Obi-Wan basically live for in the prequels? Excitement and adventure.

So again I think it comes down to expectations. The prequels presented Lucas' reality of the Jedi which is basically in line with the OT. But it's not what people expected, so many dislike it. But I find it interesting. Doesn't make the prequels great movies, just means I enjoy some of the subtext

I think TPM shows that Anakin is (or was) a good person at heart. But again, Obi-Wan's inattentiveness and Palpatine's exploitation of Anakin's flaws allow him to a flourish into an unstable monster.

>Until TCW the idea that there was anything for Luke to redeem was laughable

Isn't that a big part of the story though? The guys who actually knew him think there's nothing there to redeem and just want Luke to kill him.

Remember, Vader's redemption hinges solely on Luke's belief in him. It's not about Vader being a good person on the whole, it is entirely personal. Vader doesn't turn away from the dark side because he can't pull the trigger on Endor or whatever, he turns away because the Emperor is killing his kid while his kid begs for help. I think that's perfectly in line with what we see of Anakin in the prequels.

Anakin's love and passion for his family is what allows Luke to redeem him. That's pretty much the sole kernel of good left in him.

And yes, these are indeed the very things that were discouraged by the Jedi and exploited by Palpatine. I think that's the point.

>You keep saying TPM shows it but when?

The whole movie? I mean Anakin being an annoying kid is a big point of contention but you can't argue that the kid was portrayed as a sociopath in TPM. Pretty much everything he does is for the good of others. Yes, Shmi explicitly says it but it's not like the rest of the movie doesn't verify it.

>Colin Trevorrow coming aboard. I know VIII is Rian’s movie, but you’ve no doubt created story questions in Episode VII that have to be addressed. Do you know how the answers play out? Or are those moments still unspooling?

The script for VIII is written. I’m sure rewrites are going to be endless, like they always are. But what Larry and I did was set up certain key relationships, certain key questions, conflicts. And we knew where certain things were going. We had meetings with Rian and Ram Bergman, the producer of VIII. They were watching dailies when we were shooting our movie. We wanted them to be part of the process, to make the transition to their film as seamless as possible. I showed Rian an early cut of the movie, because I knew he was doing his rewrite and prepping. And as executive producer of VIII, I need that movie to be really good. Withholding serves no one and certainly not the fans. So we’ve been as transparent as possible.

glad there is a lot of collaboration between the directors.

It's a movie, and regardless we still see that Anakin gives freely.

>When he becomes an adult and can make moral choices for himself he acts like a dick constantly

Yes, that's the point. Obi-Wan failed him. Palpatine exploited him.

>You keep saying his love for his family but in the films we never shown this

We are shown that Anakin, as a Jedi with a family, is deeply passionate about his family. Whether it's his mother or Padme, you can't deny that he cares immensely about him.

>We're told he loves Padme and trying to save her is the reason for him falling but he never does anything about it

Palpatine exploits his love for Padme, Anakin is corrupted to the point where he harms Padme. That's when you know he's lost. Vader still asks after Padme though and the deal is sealed when Palpatine tells Vader that he killed Padme and their unborn child.

But then he finds out his kid is alive. And ultimately his connection to his kid is what redeems him, just like his connection to his mother and Padme is partially what causes his fall. This is pottery 101 dude.

In many scenes, walking hasn't been animated properly, so a character will put one foot out in front of them and just sort of "glide" along the ground until they get where they're going.

A few years back Wookipedia decided to host a poll on who was the most favorite character, and in it was Ahsoka, she was winning over Luke Skywalker but they removed her from the poll for some asinine reason(The real reason is they can't have some new character win against Luke Skywalker because that's means times are changing, and they hate change)

Last year StarWars.com set up the same poll, and since they were hosting it the Wook couldn't delete a character they don't like off a roster. Some anon, Grievanon I believe, said he had a script and he tried it on Luke first, and then Ahsoka, so afterwards the officials removed the scripting and Ahsoka still won in the preliminaries, beating Luke Skywalker. 4chan also helped with plan /b/ and we at /swg/ voted as well.

The funny part is, other people seen our spat with the Wook and sided with us because we were the lesser of two evils, it was funny as shit.

This, I would say Obi-Wan is not a bad guy but he's still a product of the rapidly failing Jedi order. Most of Qui-Gon's teachings seem lost on him (whether that's his fault or Qui-Gon's is up for debate) and Obi-Wan himself says that he failed Anakin.

Keep in mind that the only time we see Obi-Wan in good spirits is when he's not having to deal with his student. Obi-Wan was not ready to teach Anakin and it's partially his fault that Palpatine was able to worm his way into Anakin's other ear.

He's still absolutely one of my favorite characters though.

Yup, it really is quite sad. He's quite entertaining to watch in ROTS and TCW but then you remember that his attitude is basically the opposite of what Yoda tells Luke a Jedi should be. Obi-Wan is just as much at fault as the rest of the Jedi.

Those flaws make him my favorite character. I remember somebody (Plinkett) criticizing the fact that in the PT, Jedis are suppossed to be emotionless monks and thus are unrelatable as characters. Obi-Wan is SUPPOSED to be an emotionless monk, but he is still human (in no small part for Ewan McGregor's acting). He commits mistakes (BIG mistakes), he lies, he is sarcastic and gets angry, sometimes he takes pleasure and more than likely taps some alien booty.

But even then, he believes on the good of the Jedi Order and the Force to the very end, and does his best to overcome the frankly exhausting circumstances he's in.

That's why he is my favorite character in Star Wars. Also, pic related.

Pretty sure Rogue One takes place immediately before ANH. I'm betting they'll all die in it and the last one to live will send out that transmission that is intercepted in ANH before they get killed.

It's actually pretty easy to become a Jedi, now matter how old you.
Just become a Sith first and convert as soon as you can. Jedi are suckers for those who 'return to the light' and will teach and help you without charge.
>>
>>77353342
I want Rebels to have a small story. Unlike The Clone Wars, it's not an anthology series about nearly any and every character. Rebels is more of a personal journey, and has to lead us into the world of A New Hope, and the future.

I need to Ahsoka die at the hand of Vader, to show just how far gone he still is. He now distances himself from Anakin Skywalker, if he cut down a defenceless Obi-Wan, I know he'd do the same to Ahsoka.

As for Ezra and Kanan, they need to fail in their quest as Jedi. As we know by the time Luke completes his journey, he is the last Jedi. He is the New Hope. He needs to be unique in order to fill his role in the narrative. Whether one, both, or neither die, they cannot be Jedi.

So if they made Rebels just a 3-4 season thing with a clear progression, I'd love it.

Then do a series in between OT an ST in the same style as The Clone Wars, mainly following Luke, Leia, Han, Lando and expand upon others introduced.

You do know they threw out a lot of those practical sets that that they made later on and went with CGI...right? Right?

Yeah, you knew that. I'll take a deep breath and relax. Nobody is that ignorant. Whew.

Well going off the concept art that was made for Old Republic era stuff for TCW the canon version of that time was going to actually be more primative when it came to technology. (Exactly how it should be).

It was really off putting seeing that era be almost identical to prequel era times in games and stuff.

But yeah, I'd prefer a live action Netflix series too. Daredevil was great and Jessica Jones looks to be even better so I believe in that format.

I wouldn't normally reply, but we're past bump limit, so...

Being annoyed at the same ill-informed statement does NOT equal being annoyed at someone who doesn't like CGI.

Stop trying to start shit.

Second: have you seen the sets the actors had to work with?

They only build backgrounds up until the eyes of the actors and the rest was blue/greenscreened. There was nothing the actors could act with and that contributed greatly to the whole 'emotionless' thing going on in much of the prequels, especially episode 1.

Nice job moving the goal posts friendo. Please share more of your red hot opinions on the prequels.

Can't say I see why anyone would want to do that.

has anyone read Inbrief yet, the short story in the new issue of Insider?

Those helmets look pretty damn cool.

Did they really change it so that Ackbar is no longer the one behind the B-Wing? Anything out that confirms this?

I guess making it a Mon Calamari still is nice though

>>77353808
I would love a live action series about people mapping out the hyperspace lanes like in the Tales of the Jedi comic
>>

Change what?
>>
>>77354249
I can't find anything about that.
It's not even on Wookieepedia.
>>
>>77354622
Originally it was Admiral Ackbar that created the B-Wing alongside the Verpine. New Rebels episode seems to have some other Mon Calamari behind it.

How do you know that isn't Akbar? Or that he works for Akbar and is just his liaison with the Rebels?
>>
>>77354835
The guy in the episode is a midget and we've seen Ackbar to be normal human size.
>>
>>77354835
Turns out his name is Quarrie...nice tribute.

I suppose he could be a liaison, but we could have just gotten Ackbar himself which I think a lot of people would have loved.

I don't remember, were TCW episodes the same length as Rebels?
Rebels episodes always feel like they end only a few minutes after I start watching.
>>
>>77354993
New rebels episode has Quarrie working on the prototype with Hera so they can get through a blockade.

If its a tribute to McQuarrie then I'm okay with it

>but we could have just gotten Ackbar himself which I think a lot of people would have loved.

We shouldn't be bringing the big name guys in to deal with a bunch of new rebels. Ackbar probably has more important things to do than be involved in a small skirmish, I don't even think the Empire brought in regular Star Destroyers in that blockade, and seemed to only use Gozanties and Arquitens cruisers.
>>
>>77355163
We've already seen Ackbar in TCW and that's enough for me. He's too much of a big name in the Rebellion to see apart from Mothma and the other Heads of the Alliance.
>>
>>77348962

That doesn't really excuse it. One of the largest earning franchises in history can try a little harder,

Ackbar had an impressive life, regardless.
