Though I admit it was a very shitty ending for one of the best seasons yet. The challenges were awful, the backgrounds were boring, only 3 eliminated teams talked, and it all came down to a challenge that was only about luck and there was no tension between the Cadets and Surfers to make it interesting. Easily worst episode after Zimbabwe, not even changing the finalist would have made it better.

It improved vastly on a lot of aspects TD had been failing.

Uh... That's been there since always? Ever cast member of TD was a cliché/stereotype of a typical high school setting. But on an island. After that, they started to run out of stereotypes and began to go with stuff like 'Crazy Zombie Guy' (no offense to based Shawn, but he is not one would think when it comes to a typical teen) RR just had clichés of usual team in the Amazing Race.

Yes, those who didn't get development were canon fodder. Every season had them. The challenges also returned to be more grounded compared to Chris' out of the real of physics and reason challenges in ROTI, PI and AS.

I'd say Beth, Scarlett, Sierra, Tammy, and Crimson all played before appearing in the franchise(Scarlett's a grade-A power gamer who's characters are often CN Dick-Ass Thieves), Lindsay, Dakota, Leshawna, Jasmine, Eva, Zoey, Gwen, Izzy, Kitty, and Emma all pick it up from their friends and love interests on the show(Lindsay's terrible at the math parts of the game but is surprisingly good at the roleplaying parts even though she often screws up names and inserts anachronisms into her dialogue all the time)

I was actually going to suggest Elimination on Character Death(but also slip in rules on Resurrecting through giving up Gold gained through the adventures, with teams only getting fully eliminated when a TPK has occurred, of course paying for a resurrection is expensive so teams have to balance between having their full numbers and having the gold needed for supplies), also was thinking that while most of the class list would be standard D&D classes, there'd be a couple oddball classes listed as well, but rather than anything the contestants made, this would be something Chris and Leonard cook up(had the idea that Chris used to be really into the D&D expy back in the 80's but is rusty enough on the rules side of things that he brought Leonard in to handle that aspect for him, the oddball classes would be updated versions of homebrew stuff from Chris' game back in the 80's, as would the game world itself, taken from his old notes)
