I've seen a lot of people saying Fez Stan is Stanley and have been pretending to be Stanford, while the real one went through the portal. But I don't think that's right.

Portal Stan has six fingers. If Fez Stan was pretending to be Portal Stan, explaining away your extra digits missing is pretty difficult. Surgery doesn't explain zero scars.

It's likely Stanford has always been Stanford, and faked Stanley's death when he went through the portal. He could easily forge the will so the shack goes to him, if he needed.

Not particularly pertinent to the major plot, but no one seemed to contest this

Maybe the portal doesn't lead to a place, but to the Dreamscape which doesn't have material form, maybe it's a conflux of impulses and thoughts, just like the human mind. Maybe if you enter it, whatever you imagine, be it as insignificant as Stan's Pitt soda, or conjuring up a whole universe. The thing is though, it's just that, an idea, it needs to manifest into material form. That's why Bill can't have direct control over stuff in Gravity Falls because he exists only in the Dreamscape, you need a vessel to interact with the material world.

Dipper's soul is just that, a mess of energy, in other words, memories of who he thinks he is, without a body, his soul is just a drop in the ocean that is the Dreamscape

The Portal manual pages said that, it was meant to create knowledge. Just like the "Infinite monkey theorem", the Dreamscape probably holds infinite ideas/combinations, and with that also infinite knowledge.

The total destruction warning, wasn't in the sense that it would blow up the world, but rather if that ancient/forbidden knowledge got into wrong hand, they could use it to take over or destroy the universe.

Anyone else notice some parallels between McGucket and Dipper?

In Little Gift Shop of Horrors, Dipper pretty much plays the role of McGucket in the Abaconings short. He assisted a genius researcher (Waddles/Stanley), thus splitting him from someone close to them (Mabel/Stanford) in order to create a machine that would benefit all of mankind (Knowledge machine/Portal). Since Stan was telling the story, the ending was what he wished would happen (Stanley shuts down the machine to spend more time with his brother), instead of what actually happened: Stanley ditched him to gain knowledge, and it all went wrong.

And in the Blind Eye, McGucket mentions seeing the same things as Dipper: the gnomes ("little men"), the Gobblewonker/Island Head Beast ("something big in the lake") and the Summerween Trickster ("I stole a hat from a scarecrow!").

Would Alex have the balls to kill Dipper at the end of the series? There have been quite a few burned images of him shown so far. Maybe not as many as Stan, but counting references to burning pine trees (e.g. the Bill AMA and the tree on the mansion tapestry), I count at least four.

Come to think of it, all this imagery is making it hard to gauge who might buy the farm by the time this is all over with. Fucking clever, Alex.

Why would I want fake snow? There's enough snow here on an annual basis as it is.

Decorating, food and having a party set up isn't a problem, it's mostly just getting people to show up. Free food and booze only goes so far. Having someone who is not me arrange it should work out. I've messaged some people to see how receptive they are to the idea.
