It makes me feel bad because 2007 LL (and several heaping playthorugh's of No More Heroe's and Andrew Dickman's art) is what inspired me to make my own comic.

7 years later; I still have writers/artist's block and a comic I looked up to is complete dogshit but because of boobs, it rakes in money.

I guess seeing LL be successful in spite of it's numerous flaws has been somewhat of a damper on my motivation.

I always wanted to write a nice, simple action-y (web) comic except now I feel like I have to shove in unnecessary tits into panels to sell.

Adding some fanservice definitely can't hurt, but for god's sake man, do it tastefully, or humorously. And don't have it be the main attraction. Best thing you can put into your comic is a good story. How does one write a good story? To quote King a second time: Read a lot and write a lot. You'll go through several stories, drafts, characters until you find a product that isn't shit.

Like, I could craft and draw something that becomes a media darling...then some shmoe at Marvel/DC tosses something together making sure Harley Quinn or She-Hulk show off as much flesh is allowed and sells each issue for like $3 a pop.

It's not about money (ok, maybe a little is) but I've just always wanted to tell at least one good story.

Dude forget about it. If you worry about that it's just one more weight upon your shoulders. Look, just write your stories and work on your art. If you think you have something, and if you think you can make the deadlines, try and pitch it to Image comics, see if they like it. Then the market decides whether it's good or not. And keep in mind, The Walking Dead is successful without TnA. So it's not all about fanservice, but about manipulating the reader. Remember to always tickle their pickle, but never let them cross that fine line. Leave them blueballed, then let them finish after a long wait and make it worth it.

If you haven't already, study plot construction, psychology, sociology, dialogue, listen intently to how you and your friends talk, observe people's faces on the street, bus, waiting-lines (for your facial differences, those make you a darling if you're good at pulling it off), study hands and feet like you had a fetish for them (having a fetish for them definitely helps, though) and just practice a whole fucking lot. Hell, you don't even need to go to college, just do some casual studying on the side and go deeper as you go along. You'll be writing gold and drawing diamond in no time.

And it says that I need to be registered to view your profile. I really don't feel like joining FA, in case some of my friends find out and rip on me for doing so.

Also, you don't have to afford a high end scanner. Just one that'll do the job. Mine didn't cost me more than 100 bucks, if it even reached that much. And a tablet is only useful after you mastered the use of a normal pen/pencil/brush. A tablet is also cheap. I got a Genius Tablet Easy Pen series. It cost me 40 bucks altogether and it gives me good results. Hell, I once drew some art for a thread at one point and no one complained. Then again, beggars can't be choosers.

Altogether, if you can scrape up $100 that should cover a tablet and a scanner easy. You just need to shop around.
