I think Power Girl is pretty cool, and Amanda Connor's take has still been my favorite—even if she spread the "feminist" scenes where Peeg talks down catcalling short guys a little thick. She turned Power Girl into this great symbol of independence, though. She became a woman living alone in her apartment and juggling an insanely hectic schedule, and I think I saw something like my own college life in that. It honestly inspired me to work hard and make it on my own in a place where I was alone and with no real home. And Karen's doing that, too. She has no family or home in the entire world and she still lives fully and proudly. I think she's a great role model for any young woman thrust into the big world.

They created Superman in 1938 along with a bunch of characters, but in 1940 most of them faded out of popularity remaining only Superman and Batman.

In 1951 they started to recreate some of those characters and with the success that came from it, they remade Superman and Batman to fit the new versions of these characters. Supergirl is created in 1958.

In 1961 they established that the first versions those characters, along with the first versions of Superman and Batman, existed in another universe that they called Earth-2 for some reason. Since the modern Superman had Supergirl, the original Superman gained Power Girl, who was that universe Superman's cousin.

Why does Amanda Connor's style fit her so well? I honestly find it hard to look at other artists rendition of her. Her style is just perfect for this character.

I think it's because Connor doesn't have to fear being called sexist nearly as much as a man would, so she has more freedom.

I would imagine that would pull on her crotch way before she even got her head through the hole.

Even though Conner suffers from sameface, she's amazing at facial expressions and captures all the nuances of emotion. She's also great at capturing motion and sense of physical impact. Moreover she's pro at sequential art and doesn't make it difficult for the viewer to interpret panel layout.

Add sex appeal to all that, and you have all the right ingredients for a Power Girl comic.
