Syphilis connection is at best conjecture. Most of the elements of Dracula aren't actually based on 'vampire' lore, but draw from a traditional Irish story about a similar creature, an evil, undying sorcerer named Abhartach that fed on human flesh and blood (which Stoker would've been more familiar with), mingled with eastern European folklore (which he actually didn't know a terrible lot about by comparison). It's where Dracula gets a bunch of traits from that aren't part of traditional folkloric vampires. It was straight up cannibalism references (and there were spats of serial killers at the time who drank human blood, which probably helped with that) and the connection to syphilis was only made decades after its publication, during a mass syphilis outbreak no less.

I continued watching them because the character designs are super-nice and the characters proved surprisingly developed and charming for such short episodes. The books were honestly a lot better than I was expecting, too. It's a pleasant surprise.

Have you heard that Mattel is re-releasing the Maim Six dolls? There will be individually packed dolls, but the only way to get Lagoona and Ghoulia will be drop $80 on the big six pack. Mattel is also apparently re-releasing the Dawn of the Dance dolls soon.

I'm already coming up with ways to unload my Frankie, Clawdeen, and Draculaura from the new six pack since I already have their Original Favorites releases. Maybe do something interesting with them instead off just sell them, like give them away as prizes in a drawing/writing contest where only lewd entries are considered

Standard doll, a mixture of standard and custom clothes. I don't think any of the official outfits show midriff except Howleen's original frizzy haired version. Some of them have very tiny skirts and shorts though.

We get this question a lot, and the answer is basically 'The show is good if you like cutsey girly things, monster puns, and exaggerated accents.' There's no real continuity and the 'show' is 5 seasons 3 minute long web shorts, a few full length movies and some 30 minute specials.
The 2nd season of the show was well written a fun and had a point, the rest of the webisodes are hit or miss.
Ever After High is much more focused with an actual story and character development, and 2 very good books. Again if you don't like puns and girly things you won't like it either.

I've only watched the webisodes so far, I haven't read the books where I hear they get a lot more development. But currently I like Cupid, Maddie and Kitty. I normally like the bad girls but Duchess is kinda bland and Lizzie hasn't really had any screen time. I find myself really rooting for Cupid in her unrequited love for Dexter. As a big MH fan but a newcomer to EAH I'd be interested to know other people's view too.

Netflix first two episodes are season one. The third episode is the 30 minute special True Hearts Day.
The only thing they don't have on there that they have online are the episodes from the current season.
But yes, please buy the books, they are really good and if you like the characters at all, the books will make you like them more.
