Is it 100% confirmed that Robert and Joseph had a relationship? I saw a video of the scene with Robert meeting with MC on the 3rd Joseph Date, but not the scenes afterwards that apparently go into that. And in my own game I had slept with Robert on the first night so I couldn't get these scenes to trigger and had to redo the game to get Robert's ending.

If it is confirmed, how do you think that factors into Robert and Mary's relationship? They're obviously chummy, so it's possible that Robert didn't tell Mary. But then Mary tells you "I'm surprised, you wouldn't normally be Joseph's type", so that means she probably is aware of Joseph's cock desire on some level.

I kinda feel like Robert would have told Mary about it, but then I can kinda see hiding this being another aspect of his self destructive/self hating side.

It's confirmed on Joseph's third date. I kinda have the feeling that Robert wasn't friends with Mary at the time the affair took place or was under the impression the marriage was over with. Maybe they even bonded because they both felt burned by Joseph.

Robert doesn't specify who started it, so it's possible Joseph did and seduced him, though they're both kinda slutty so I think Robert approached him first. Also you see a pic of Robert wearing Joseph's sweater on the yacht. So... it kind of implies they had more than a one-night stand IMO despite what Joseph says.

I think Robert and Mary were friends beforehand, and this is a big reason why Robert's so pissed off. He's not just mad at Joseph for failing to commit to him, he's mad at himself for fucking a married guy.

What I really don't get is all the Robert love vs Joseph hate when Robert has done plenty of shitty things not just relating to Joseph's infidelity. They are alarmingly similarly shitty, but for different reasons. Yet Robert is just a poor precious baby who needs love while Joseph is the worst person ever. I feel people just feel annoyed Joseph stayed with his wife instead of choosing them/the MC.

I think that his charming exterior (baking, the church stuff, his love for his kids and so on) is real, but at the same time I'm sure the dude has his fair share of secrets. We don't know how is he with Mary when alone, so we can't pin all the blame on Mary for their failing marriage, and I feel like he and Joseph have more story than just a one time fling. That's kind of disappointing. I mean, most people who played his route were expecting a divorce at some point, which would've be the best for both of them. I doubt there was a considerable amount of people who were getting off to the cheating aspect.
I did Joseph's route after Robert and Damien and honestly I wasn't even hoping for a divorce because I wanted to bone Joseph free of guilt, I just wanted Mary to be free.

Everyone demonizes Joseph. I absolutely love Mary as a character but she is not there for the kids. And she is emotionally cheating even if she apparently doesn't take guys home (so says the bartender.) Both of them are miserable with each other and it's a toxic relationship where neither is worse.
