It's funny you guys brought up Nova-kun last thread, apparently at the final screening for Luluco on Friday Imaishi and the other Trigger staff brought up Kaworu directly:

So it seems Nova-kun was originally going to be a transfer student with a pet cat. Sound familiar? If they had actually gone through with it, that would have been the closest to an animated draftworu we'd ever get.
It's kind of amazing how influential Eva is, even after all these years.

Anno had the script finished back in Jan 2014. They're already in the Part 4 stage of finishing animation and 3D editing, as signaled by their hiring page http://www.khara.co.jp/recruiting/.

The deadline is June 30, so they're well on their way of finishing up the movie.

Wrong. Stage 4 production is the final stage of production.

That interview made no mention of Final. What are you talking about? And if all the evidence wasn't enough, Evamonkey personally reached out to a Khara member who confirmed Final production was well under way. It's been in the works before Expo, and it took a pause for Expo. After Expo, it started back up and it's near finished.

Lots of Gozilla vs Evangelion marketing, which leads some to believe that there will be Eva news once Godzilla is released. As of June, the film's animation is in the 4th stage of production (if I'm understanding correctly), according to Khara's website.

I was thinking about that a few days ago again actually.
BM03 could refer to some technical word + Third Pilot, as the other anon pointed out, but it always made me suspicious what’s written in the other foot: S. ikari??. The question marks seem odd even more in the context it was: Misato calling him by his name and then asking if she "really can call him that" to Ritsuko, which she answers that the physiological data matches perfectly with "the code No 3 Boy" so she guess that yes, and then asking instantaneously if the DSS has been installed. Then almost everyone acting cold, indifferent or harsh towards him, Shinji not knowing what to do or who to reach for “does that means I’ll die?” “I won’t deny that”. And it seems way too suspicious they needed 14 years to wake him up. Why didn’t they do it before? Why were they pointing weapons towards him (though would that even work if Shinji has some, let's call them, angel powers?)? Did they had 'surprises' in the process in the past? Why are they talking about a Near Third Impact and then drop it to call it Third Impact later in the movie like it was a full one? Are they both two different Impacts (as it seems odd the Impact was THAT catastrophic when it was theorically aborted)? But even more, if he's THAT dangerous, why just not let him be in the atomic-whatever state he was? Etc. You even have Kaworu withholding information from him, though that one’s probably just to not make him suffer (and he was right, Shinji was devastated after seeing the truth, and it's implied he didn't even sleep for days). It wouldn’t surprise me if they pull out an evil Shinji as explanation for all of that.
But this is me just fanwanking honestly and it's been ages since I watched the movie, so take my words with a grain of salt. There's nothing but fanwank to this day. Until 3.0+1.0 we know nothing. Crossing fingers for news soon.

Yeah, I highly doubt we get answers. But not only for that, for everything in general. I have lots of questions about the plot and the context they thrown in but the problem is that it makes no sense (specially towards the end, where everything seems to be rushed and just made for the sake of drama) and even have contradictions. Many fantheories sound much better than what we'll probably get. I don't really have much expectations, I just want to know how everything ends. The only thing I hope is a better fate for Shinji, I don't want to have that broken and traumatized Shinji at the end of Q as the last thing I see for him in the (probably) last canonical universe we are given.

Are you refering to the Shinjiquarium in EoE or something else? I always read that scene in a more metaphorical way, referencing Shinji longing he had a similar relationship with Gendo as Rei has, with the fact he was going to be called Rei if he were a girl, etc. You know, something like that.

I definitely think that Rebuild's Shinji is cloned and has his own clone series. Or rather, I think that Shinji embodies Rebuild's version of the dummyplug series, based on on what we know or can speculate on so far. This would imply that unit 03, Mark 6's automated mode, the Mark 4 series and the nemesis series all operate on Shinji clones. The biggest piece of evidence for this being the following:

>Unit 01's eyes glow red upon dummy plug activation. Glowing red eyes from an eva is usually associated with Shinji specifically awakening an eva. They glow red when Shinji awakens unit 01 at the end of 2.0, then twice in 3.0 (saving Asuka in the beginning and disconnecting from Kaworu's synchronization in eva 13.)

Meanwhile, when Yui went berserk against Sachiel in 1.11, her eyes never once turned red. This is the same case with unit 02's beasts modes; they were green instead.

The only exception to the rule is unit 03, in which its eyes DO glow red upon activation and contamination by the 9th angel. But there are a lot of subtle implications from the movie, Gendo, Fuyutsuki and the like implying that unit 03 and the 9th angel were sleeper agents set up to trigger some kind of mini-Impact from Seele. So it's possible that even unit 03 had some sort of dummyplug thing installed into it or its core as well.

Interesting interpretation, I mainly say it's literal because it happens during a scene not shown from Shinji's viewpoint.
It also seems plausible enough that Gendo would use Shinji clones as a backup to house Lilith's soul in case people started getting suspicious about Rei.

No, he triggered impacts which resulted in a new, albeit gestating (?) lifeforms with both the fruits of knowledge and life. These children being the failures of infinity. He's seed-tier along with Rei and Kaworu. Though Rei's position as a seed in Rebuild is becoming, how to put it...debatable now.

In Rebuild? Yeah same here. Not sure what this could mean if Rebuild is indeed a sequel to NGE. I sense huge retcons if that's the case. But if Rebuild really is its own standing AU then it works out just fine.

Regardless, Shinji is definitely overtaking Rei's Lilith role in this continuity while Rei is being regulated to some new seed role entirely.

There were theories posted ages ago on both /cm/ and /a/ discussing the idea that it's now some divine family sort of deal with Shinji being the mother seed, Kaworu being the father seed and Rei being the child seed based on the interactions with each other and their roles in these impacts. Considering what's been gathered and theorized over the years, it might actually be likely.

Though I consider it possible and would explain somehow what we also saw at the end of Q (Kaworu and Shinji being the 'originals', that's it, having souls and being triggers, and Kaworu's line about Rei: "an imitation won't work"), you'll have to explain then the existence of the Rei ghosts we see in both 1.0 and Q and the ensuing Instrumentality in Final (as they're at least in NGE byproducts of that). If Rei isn't Lilith anymore then what was the deal with that? (Unless Anno decides just not to explain it, they don't have an explanation in EoTV after all)

If the Rei ghosts we see in Rebuild are actually NGE Lilith/Rei and the Rei II in 1.0 and 2.0 is a whole different Rei that Shinji created then that would be pretty messed up.

I can get your point, but I was trying to point at that even if Shinkyu probably got to be the closest to a female deity, his attitude doesn't really match. He only went full homo with Kyuworu's presence, and have more similarities with Shaun (psychologically talking). Shinji was always really feminine since the begining, we did not need to see him wenting full homo for Kaworu to notice that.
And Shinkyu turning into Eve probably was something he didn't wanted to (probably because the lack of Kaworu's presence), but Shinji desired so much to fuse with Giantworu that he didn't hesitated a second. I doubt that Shinji would haven't listened to Kaworu if he ordered him to not remove the spears (his personality is much more submisive).

I guess my list would be Shinji>Shinkyu>Puchishinji>Shaun.

Shinkyu is very maternal, acting quite femininely towards Rei, and he displays none of the boyish adolescence that NGE Shinji does. I found his manner to be softer because of that.

I understand your point, but there's something that it's unclear: Shinkyu is gently with everybody, and at that time he was eating with everybody. He offered her another option (miso) because he's nice and didn't wanted to exclude her. Shinji likes Rei in a friendly sense, so that was his way to get closer to her and let her know that she's between friends.
By the other hand, Shinji didn't had any reasons to clean Rei's house. He could've left everything like that, but he just began to clean (despite Touji's teasing). And if I'm not letting something important out, Shinkyu never acted so feminine in Rei's presence (or anybody but probably Kyuworu). Shinkyu is very nice and gently, but Shinji is very nice, gently and feminine at the same time.

I would assert that Shinkyu's unprompted act of making Rei lunch and bringing it to her could be compared to NGE Shinji cleaning Rei's apartment. There's also the obvious: flipping out and trying to save Rei was very much like a mother trying to protect her child. People like to say how GAR Shinji was during that scene, but if you look at it in line with motherhood, it's his most feminine act yet -- the discarding of everything but the object of maternal affection.
I absolutely get where you're coming from, I just fundamentally disagree. Both Shinjis are quite feminine, but I still believe that Rebuild Shinji is the closest we'll get to an actual fem Shinji.

A friend who went to Japan Expo told me Maeda went full Kawoshinfag in his talk speaking about the piano scene, how it was one of the scenes they put the more effort in and how many times they re-did it to express accurately Kaworu and Shinji's relationship. It was the first thing he talked about and spent like twenty minutes/half an hour for that. With the place filled with neckbeards, some of them probably adhered to the evil Kaworu theory, I'd have paid for seeing their faces.
No news for Final though that was to be expected. Sadamoto in FZ months ago didn't want to reply questions about it, too.

As I said before, and if I recall correctly, Sadamoto said beforehand at some point he wasn't going to reply to questions about Final, but I can't find a source for that (there were different interviews at the time and they're now a mess in my mind, or maybe he said that to the FZ staff? or was that in a past con? my memory is a little blurry and now I don't know if that was from the time FZ staff asked people to make him questions, or if I'm mixing my memories with another con he went to, sorry. But anyway, I don't think this is that important: he did reply to the question in the end even if it was to say basically nothing).

Compared with the other two, he's the maliest of them. Shaun's attitude was very expected from a teenager boy with all his problems, and I doubt that Shinji or Shinkyu would not have a mind-break if Kaji tells them that they caused Touji's death by their doubts; and let's remember that Shinji didn't saved Asuka from MP-Evas.
Shaun have his own problems, but having the stuborness of not even recognizing Karuru as his most loved person (he didn't saw him on manga EoE) and showing a manlier personality towards his problems (probably by Sadamoto's awful writing skills) makes him the least girly of them.

I have the idea that Sadamoto have a manlier version of homosexuality because of that boy from Tokyo, and Anno a girlier view because of Iku-chan (we all know he went full homo for him, and I can't blame him). It makes some sense why he portrayed Karuru like that and not like the anime version.

At least where the Kawoshin pairing is concerned, I tend to see anime Shinji being portrayed as more of a moeblob. Fanartists like to make anime Shinji maximum uguu around Kaworu, but give Q Kawoshin a relationship that's at least a little more equal.
There's certainly no shortage of puffy nipples, though, you're right. And of course Shinkyu gets a ton of focus on his hips and ass.

God, that saddens me. I didn't mind having to wait so long as he at least TRIED. I'm not even expecting a good ending: this won't be EoTV or EoE, I know that. But if he's not even going to try to fix the clusterfuck he did with 3.0 somehow and give at least an average closure then what's even the point? I don't know what to expect anymore from this. Communication (miscommunication in this case) was always a theme in the original but in 3.0 it wasn't that, it was just plainly stupid plot. And given this and all the time we have already waited it doesn't even seem he's going to try so I can just expect more idiot plot and questions. Eva's name sells so whatever he does it'll be ok.
I'm not even excited about Rebuild anymore, I just want to see it ending and move on. Does that make sense?

For 3.0 the very first teaser was a 3D rainbow piano at the beginning of 2012, the trailer showing footage was only 3 months before, there's no way we'll get anything for Godzilla.

Production is in stage four out of FOUR. The script was finished a year ago. This apology is jus that, an apology to fans for waiting so long. Anno was spent physically with 3.0 and was revived with Godzilla. Without Godzilla, Final wouldn't have been possible.

Like I said, you guys are readying way too much into this apology. This apology is the standard apology that all Japanese directors give to hardcore fans who have been waiting longer than usual for a new installment of whatever. Nothing more and nothing less.

Final is coming out next year. A trailer may or may not come with the Godzilla premeire. That's all.

Sadamoto said a couple months ago at a con that he hadn't heard anything about final, and that should be confirmation enough that production hasn't started on it.
The apology is just further establishing what I already assumed, if Anno had a trailer ready he would have mentioned it to garner more hype and ticket sales for Godzilla but he obviously doesn't.

That's fair, I didn't see anything on neweva either. Maybe I had a pathetic dream about seeing the production notice after reading the rumors about the film being in stage 4.
I do think work has at least been started in the movie but it won't be coming out as soon as people have been hoping. We do know that Anno at least has some things in mind for the story though, after UYCTM. I'm sure some things have already been drafted out.
