I've been looking into getting a tortilla press, but I'm having trouble discerning what to look for when getting one. What does one look for in a tortilla press?

The one pictures is pretty standard. My grandmother who lives in Mexico City has one pretty much just like that except it has more of a cast iron looking finish.
I use a wooden press. Works great. Just get something that is comfortable to use. Metal ones are abundant but slightly uncomfortable IMO.
Also, if your tortilla press doesn't cost more then 300+ then you'll just end up with shitty tortillas.

Mexi spic here, you can make tortillas only with that, 2 clean plastic bags (to prevent getting al the stuff sticked there) and a round mold for cutting

I just go to the store and buy a bag of 80 for $2, they're made daily on site and they're still warm and moist when I pick them off the shelf.

Nah, freshly made torts are better and super easy to make. takes like 5 mins. Plus you can create unique flavors to compliment the meal you're prepping them for.
just takes two flat things wrapped in plastic and smash the masa with it you dumbass. you have plates right and saran wrap right?

I live in the north east. That's not a thing here.
can i get a nice tortilla recipe?

then they sit in your fridge until they're crusty though
>not going to the tortilleria and buying fresh made tortillas and tamales by the dozen for less than it costs to make them at home
If there's one thing those illegals are good for it's popping out obscene numbers of tamales and tortillas for almost no money

>no money
pffffft, some of them own houses and drive beemers doing that shit here in los angeles

>pre-made is cheaper than homemade
This dumbass

it certainly can be. they are buying in bulk.
experiment: make me ramen noodles from scratch for less than 15 cents
>>9431842
It is though and it's better
They make thousands of tortillas a day. Bulk masa is a lot cheaper than the bags they sell at the mexican market in my neighborhood.

I will. And charge you a fucking dollar. Dumbass.
>>9431853
>bulk masa is cheaper then dry bags
>not realizing most of it is water weight
Enjoy spending more for less
