Culver's can make a good hamburger and the double is great, but I find it annoying that the cheese and bread are often cold. It throws me off. In and out consistently makes delicious burgers that combine perfectly. Freddy's in my opinion is better than Culver's and just below in and out. But five guys is the best. The fries are bomb and the burger doesn't disappoint. It's double the price which sucks but if you go all out it beats everything IMO

I went to a culver's today; last time I went I was really hungover and got a mushroom swiss burger. It had some green sauce in it and it tasted awful.

Today I just go ta regular butter burger, it just wasn't as good as whataburger or in n out. I don't think I'll be going back. The fries are alright, but I just don't like crinkle cut. Not a terrible burger, but its not as good as anyone makes it out to be.

I'll always give 2 chances to a place unless its horribly bad and has a bad reputation, or horrendously expensive.

I've lived in most of the contiguous states. The wealth and opportunities and sheer economic 'power' of those coastal cities is amazing and when you're there the endless array of options and events and money is pretty convincing as to why so many people go.

They don't hold a candle to how fucking cozy and relaxing parts of the Midwest and South are. If I could commute from small town Midwest to LA in 20 minutes I would live in the Midwest in a fucking heartbeat.

Also lived in Wisconsin a bit since that seems to be part of the thread topic. Wisconsin is one of the most obese states in the country but for good reason. States like Mississippi and Arkansas are very obese because they're riddled with poverty, people eat McDonalds and Popeye's chicken 4 meals a day and use their food stamps on 2 liters of cola. Wisconsin is obese because they have german drinking traditions paired with insane local food. The culture difference is night and day. Visited Crusty Butt during my field course. What a snobby fuckin' town as a whole. We were camping around Gunnison. And that's not a crappy place by any stretch, Crested Butte just had an air of posh BS about it.

Also, Culver's is great. One of the most consistent chains I've seen. Went to one in Murfreesboro TN and ate the same burger and custard that I did in GB, Wis. Have had In-n-Out too, just like Culver's more. Though, must concede that their raspberry lemonade and fries animal style made the visits quite memorable too.
