I just bought this french copper sauce pan for around $5 and i'm wondering what it is i bought. I've never owned anything copper before and i'm kinda worried about the tin lining inside. Is this pan still usable with the copper showing at the edges or does this need retinning?
More pictures below:
Inside, you can clearly see some copper shining through.
is this usable?

Looks like it needs to be re-tinned, but that's no big deal.

Havard is a small town in France specialized in copper. Antique copper pans used to be extremely popular among rich Americans.
It seems ok to me. Just clean it off with something, there are many ways to clean and polish copper. Test it by boiling some water.

>but that's no big deal.
retinning one of these seem to cost more than the pan itself

It will cost $50-100 probably yea.
hang it on your wall or from one of those cool chandelier pot holders
Copper isn't a meme, it is probably the best all around choice if you disregard price, which you did.
