When I cook rice and curry, one of the veg sides I make is a simple carrot curry using the microwave. It's pretty nice.

Also, you can make cheese sauce in the nukebox without that box stuff.
Get American cheese, a bit of milk and a bowl.
Put cheese and milk into the bowl and the bowl into the microwave.
Nuke 10 seconds, then remove and stir.
If not completely melted and sauce-like, nuke another 10 seconds and repeat and repeat and repeat until it is.
Pour over blanched and shocked veg (which you can blanch in the microwave, actually) and nuke a final time to warm the veg through then eat. Or pour over drained, freshly cooked pasta. Or use in a casserole.
It's great on just about everything. Nice as a dip for fries or tater tots, but you need to keep it warm for that. It's basically white trash fondue.
