Depends. Definitely more inclined to soup on a cold day. Definitely more inclined to it from a good restaurant that I know makes it from scratch.

This. I am always interested in what the available soup is, but I mostly go with salad when the soup options don't wow me.

Usually soup. Really fresh and interesting combination salads though are the best, but hardly ever offered because ingredient are too perishable/expensive and labor intensive. Good soups are just easier to pull off than good salads.

yup. There's so many salads I've had that are just lettuce, onion, tomato, cucumber, radish and some shit off the shelf dressing. Not worth it .
