How can cottage cheese and ketchup sound so gross but taste so good?

It's not like a lot of people talk about eating cottage with ketchup but when they do I immediately think of Richard Nixon.
It's too weird of a taste for me, I've tried it a couple times. I like garlic, onion powder, or chives more in any combination.
