Yeah the American classic version of that is toasted ham and american cheese. I don't see a lot of mutton being consumed around here, lamb and mint sauce is something you would have at a nice dinner or wedding or something.

New Zealand, I bone out and crockpot a leg of mutton weekly as fridge meat for sandwiches, snacks and quick meals. Im not to fussed on ham aside Im not sure whats gone into it.

No, it isn't. The concept of lamb meat with mint sauce is not common at all in America no matter what culture you belong to and you know this to be true. Why are you making things up? A typical wedding might have Thanksgiving-style dishes, but most definitely not lamb or mint sauce.
