Gourmet rice isn't cooked in a rice cooker anyway. Go buy a 15-20 lb bag of rice. I like basmati. No matter what kind ypu end up getting, alwaya rinse it thoroughly before cooking.

You don't. Gourmet rice is expensive (pic). Cheap rice is always cheap because it is polished and fortified for shelf stability. As for making dishes that taste good, it is all about the sauce. For cheap sauces, a sweet sauce is sugar, salt, milk, and butter. A savory sauce is the flavor packet from ramen noodles. That's about as cheap as you can get.

I add tuna and some green onion for a bit of flavour, but sauce wise, is just in case I get sick of the same shit (and cos mercury)

Go grab some goya rice. Rinse some of the starch out of it. Fill a pot with some water (remember 2 parts water to 1 part rice). Boil the water throw the rice in turn down to medium low and cover that shit for like 20 mins. Then use a fork and mix it. U should also probably add a bit of olive oil.
With the rice u can then add some beans with sazon and sofrito mixed in and boom u got a basic ass dinner.
