I wanna get a slow-cooker with a timer so I can eat decently while spending minimal amount of time on cooking. Problem is timers start to appear on the 4quart and higher pots which are too large for one person according to the sources. How exactly is it bad to cook in a cooger that is too large for you? Also any advice on slow-cookers is very much appreciated.

Ya thought of that too but cutting the power off is not the same as the thing switching to warm mode.

Cook more, freeze for later.

Also, it's pretty hard to overcook food in a slow-cooker. The timer is quite optional and it's better to leave the food cooking than to leave it cold for too long..

option 3: pic related.

>what is half filling a crock pot

If you piut less food in at the start of the process, you will get less out at the end.

In the unlikely event you make a friend or need to cook food ahead and freeze it, that extra capacity can be utilized

Can a rice cooker substitute a slow cooker?

Underfilling isn't a thing so much as overfilling. You should always leave an inch or two from the lip. Also, never lift the lid when cooking - you lose an hour of Cook time.
>>
You can always cook less in a bigger cooker you cannot cook more in the smaller cooker. Go for the 6quart kitchen aid model. About $80-100.

No. A rice cooker is a type of pressure cooker. It's the opposite of a crock pot.

If you plan it right, the timer will shut off around five minutes after you expect to get home and eat dinner. Wa-la.

This. Though now you can get multifunction cookers that can do both pressure cooking as well as slow cooking.

Just cook shit on low ,you're not going to overcook anything. Either that or underfill/freeze leftovers.
