Is the food stamp challenge even humanly possible?
>>
Why is that even a question? It's only a challenge to white people for their Facebook likes and validations. It's called day to day for the rest of the world.
>>
Can you use the supplemental nutrition assistance program as your sole source of nutrition? Probably

I could live on 29 a week, easy.
I just need 4 weeks food budget in advance so I can buy in bulk
Cheap coffee for breakfast, bologna and cheap turkey deli meats and mayo in a sandwich for lunch and beans and rice for dinner.
If i have money left, I'll buy rotisserie chicken.

>>
What family only gets $29 a week? In my state, if you've got kids, you get like $100 per kid or so.

When I got it I got $180/month. It didn't last long as I cooked for a total of 3 people. Years and years ago my mother and I lived on EBT $200/month. She supplemented it but then lost her job. We did alright. We are both handy in the kitchen. Even with her being pescaterian we got by.

It's possible to live on $29 a week, but it's boring as all fuck.
Rice, beans, eggs, potatoes, milk, oats, nasty frozen veg. Expiring meat on discount. Tap water for free.
That's it.

Being poor fucking sucks and it's no wonder the ape brain will turn to a $1 McDouble just to break the monotony. Ever seen someone poor post their food stamp cooking? The food is always low quality and gross looking.

>29$
Since we pay in € where I live, I´ll calculate in €.
This is pretty much what I eat:

Breakfast
rolled oats: 500g 0,39€ 3000g 2,34€
milk: 1000ml 0,69€ 3000ml 2,07€
cocoa powder: 300g 2€ (I assume, and don´t need much)

Lunch:
rice: 1000g 1,99€ 2000g 3,98€
onions 1000g 2,49€
mushrooms 500g 2€

Dinner:
lean quark 500g 0,69€ 15000g 20,70€
alternatively:
potatoes 1000g 1,15€ 2000g 2,30€
sauce 0,49€

With quark 35,58€
with potatos 17,67€

I usually eat that much quark since it contains a shitload of protein and I need it to build up muscle.
>>
What dumb fucks actually think a family is only getting $100 a month on food stamps? I worked at a shelter and saw homeless 14 year olds get over $200 a month in food stamps alone.

1 pound peanut butter - $2.49

>>
>>9370490
I'm sure at this point many folks have
1.) gone to the store and bought all that for maybe $16 tops
2.) found out that the average family receives significantly more in benefits, in my red state people with EBT buy a whole cart with a few basics and a lot of shitty food for $250
>>
>I went to a food pantry today.
Got 3lbs of salmon. Family pack and chicken tiddies and some other 4lb seasoned chicken pack. A tiramisu cake. Some popcorn chips. Peanut butter. Egg noodles. I shop in bulk and milk is way cheaper here.
50 lb bag of potatoes 12 bucks.
milk 1.70 usually, aldis had it for 1.30 once and i bought and froze 10 gallons.
I buy butter in megapacks, real butter for 2 bucks a lb.
Oats I go to a bulk food grocer and buy for a buck a lb.
I buy flour and make my bread, about 60 cents a loaf.
I do enjoy powdered peanut butter which for generic is about 4 bucks a lb. When i go cheap i get non gmo, no preservative peanut butter for about 2 bucks a lb.
Bulk is king.
Also deer meat, god I love deer meat.

Do you see the problem with where you money went?

Vegetables aren't expensive, but they are not filling, don't last long before spoiling, and are pretty shitty from a nutritional stand point unless consumed in pretty decent quantities.

$29 to last a week?

Go buy sirloin steak that is about to go bad that you can snatch up for $2 a pound. Buy ten steaks at a pound a piece, and a five pound bag of potatoes.

You will eat literally steak and potatoes for a week straight. Full, functioning, and good to go.

Just put the extra meat in a freezer right away and take out what you need for the day the night before.

i'm poor and i always buy fresh meat (pork fillet, discounted chicken and fish, ground beef) and fresh vegetables. beans, oats, and noodles and the like is just a waste of money. fucking meme foods
rice and potatoes are completely fine. especially potatoes are fantastic. you can boil it, fry it, bake it, mash it. wonderful little thing
i also try to make most things from scratch. i buy the cheapest base ingredients and make my own stuff. it's cheaper and tastier to make your own jam from frozen berries for example.

and fast food is actually pretty expensive if you consider what you're getting. you could buy premium beef for the same money as mcdonalds burgers if you calculate the price/weight. only stupid people fall for that trap

if you don't know how to cook being poor sucks, but if you do it's not so bad.

lol how is this even a fucking question? Yeah if you shop at whole paycheck every week and certified fuck you in the ass price organic, no it's not.

If you buy normal shit at walmart, where all that stuff would cost 6 bucks total, yeah it's really doable.

My wife and I spend 50-60 dollars on groceries a week and week steak, chicken, fish, all sorts of expensive shit. If you're buying 7 dollar bags of Cheetos from the gas station, it's probably going to be hard. Similar to if you don't know what rice, beans or potatoes are.

Which is really a fucked up premise. Most people on snap spend more than 50% of their income on rent alone. When you factor in other necessary bills food is almost nonexistent.

You need a job to pay rent and buy food. You need a car, insurance and gas to get to work. You need elecricity and phone to be reachable for work and hunt for better jobs. You need water and garbage to be sanitary. You need renters insurance in order to rent your shitty expensive apartment.

>2 whole chickens, 10 bucks total, cut into pieces to stretch it out a bit
>6 bucks for fruit, bulk apples are cheap as fuck can get several pounds for 5 bucks here in NY
>Optionally, swap rice out for flour/yeast and make breads and noodles

That's with money to spare for broths/seasonings/snacks/etc. Not the most exciting of meal plans and not even the cheapest, but if you can't live off 29 bucks a week you need to practice your budgeting. Getting full nutritional values might be tough, but if you take your extra couple bucks and get multivitamins that's taken care of too.

I eat on 20-30 bucks a week roughly
Though I could spare a lot more, get allocated around 250 a month for food
really depends on what i'm missing, like milk or pasta or whatever
though variations of rice pasta and chicken do get tiring
I dont think I eat enough veggies either, just supplement my meals with mixed salad bags
>>
>>9370490
We already had this fucking post, you retard.

>>

That's what you get for $29 in US of A? That's so fucking expensive. Shit, I could get that for less than $15. Why the brown rice? Just get white rice it's cheaper and them japs been eating them their whole life and they're fine. The whole pic is like a giant meme.

Those veggies are like 5 bucks tops in that pathetic small quantity. For $29 bucks you can get a lot more here and eat properly.

>>
>>9370490

So the only nutritional part of that picture is probably the eggs, rice, and beans. Eggs are around $1/dozen currently. I don't know why she felt the need to buy 7 limes which is going to be expensive as fuck, some meme miniature tortilla wraps which is also going to be expensive as fuck, and is that an Avocado? Knowing the current avocado prices, she likely spent around $1.33 just for that. So no, I don't feel bad for anyone that buys this garbage. They are retards. Learn to shop. This post made me realize that eating low quality meats, beans and grains is the modern equivalent of gruel or bread and water.
>>
>>9376477
protein bars aren't worth it, bulk protein powder (Costco, myprotein, etc) comes out to ~60g protein/dollar compared to 20 for bars, assuming 10g/bar, 5 bars/box. it's also whey rather than soy, and you can get carbs and such elsewhere, only downside is the initial investment

Did you guys seriously use the word cuck without even knowing where it is derived from? Holy shit
>>

Varies by the food bank. The town I used to live in would give you really nice shit, especially the meat. Got filet mignon there once.

but it proves you're lazy

Mashed potatoes and butter
Hot sauce if I can afford it

How many limes does that get you?

I don't get it, even if £22 a week was all I had I would just buy fuckloads of kidney beans and rice
>>
it is possible. only use veggies. no meat or fish.

In Illinois being a single male not attending college and being unemployed gets you almost exactly $400 a month. There is no state where you get $120 dollars for a family of any size, I guarantee it.
>>
>>9371496
there's not a single reason to buy milk if you are on a budget.
>>
>>9379938
federal SNAP maximum is $197 per month so I doubt a single male gets $400 a month.

It is EASY to live on about £20 a week in the UK
The issue is that cheap calories are always unhealthy

Pic related is 2 £20 shopping lists.
Bearare in mind, I am a grown, 6'0 male, so I need 2800 calories per day at least, which is a total of 22300 calories

As you can see a healthy food shop is impossible - I literally cannot get 22300 calories on that budget without resorting to unhealthy stuff.

I can get to fucking

Ever wonder how Illinois is a safe blue state? The welfare state is pervasive here. I speak from experience. Most people, employed, only need to make under $25k a year to get about half that here. I don't know that SNAP has a Federal limit, furthermore.
>>
>>9379951
>>9379980
Looked it up. $194 for a single person. I must have been a clerical aberration. Even I, who has a bone to pick with statism, found it hard to believe I could feed myself and my two close friends just on welfare.

Depends where you live. In Massachusetts you'd have a hell of a time getting by on 29 dollars a week. I cook at home and spend 600/mo on groceries easily.

So if someone"s husband dies at a young age, the wife should be exiled and live alone for the rest of her life?

Obviously it isn't ideal to raise someone else's child vs. your own, but many people do and I think it is commendable. I wouldn't want to do this, but if you often can't choose who you fall in love with. And if I were to die, I'd rather my wife finds another good husband for herself and our two young children than to be on her own and miserable.

Then again, /pol/tards are SJW-tier inexperienced, naive cowards who blame literally everything and everyone else - from entire races to the government to global conspiracies - on their inability to find happiness or what has been considered a noble life in the Western world for a very long time (profession, wife, family).

They idealize bygone eras without realizing they would be even less attractive and successful if competing with traditional macho males. It isn't the world's fault they are pudgy, sedentary, prematurely embittered, miserable, under-socialized losers. If you have an ounce of personality, confidence, and social skills you can exceed beyond your flaws. Unfortunately, social skills are like a muscle group, if you don't exercise them they atrophy. No one wants to be around quiet angry weird young men who can't connect beyond ranting about politics; unfortunately for them, their delusions of grandeur and rampantly erroneous self-perception mean they see themselves as mysterious, hyper-intelligent, superior wolves in a world of sheep. Too bad no one around them shares this opinion.

Comments such as "Honey, when are you going to get a girlfriend" from mothers and perplexed, disappointed fathers must be quite common in the lives of /pol/tards.

It's called Life.

And the problem is, people can't hold one (a job.) Because they stay up late, they come in half asleep, don't pay attention worth a fuck, are slack jawed jackasses that want too get paid for doing nothing other than seemingly and purposely destroying the food and sabotaging the equipment. They don't give a fuck and the moment you turn your back they will do what they want too do. That is what a person gets when they try too hire.

It's maybe 1 out of a 100 are worth keeping, And that's working in Fast Food hiring. As a manager your job is not just too pick the right one but then be able too keep them from getting poached. Employing people is next too impossible for a good reason, the product is sour and no good.

Low employment should not be your aim in life. Employment is opportunity too advance yourself financially through work.

Yes, its expensive. That is what a full time job is for.

Pay your rent. Save some money. Buy some land. Then you can do whatever you want.

>>
>>9379945
well it's 2368 calories and 123g protein. for comparison the pound of butter for the same price is 3240 calories, $3.89 worth of potatoes (at the price of $5 for 10 pounds) is 2622 calories and 71g protein, about $3 of steel cut oats is 2550 calories and 105g protein, and the pound of peanut butter is 2603 calories and 96g protein
so there's really no reason not to get milk if you're on a budget. it's not the most cost efficient as far as dollars to calories goes, but it's in line with other staples and it is also one of the best protein sources that's reasonable to get as a poorfag. plus it makes the potatoes and oats way more palatable

I took my neighbors to one once when they were down and out and vehicle broken down and husband/wife neither one was employed. They have one child. The food bank was amazing to them. They even had frozen little caesars pizzas, gallons of fresh milk and meat, fresh fruits/vegetables. Obviously there was all the canned/boxed stuff too and bags of snacks but it filled up my entire truck bed with what they got for free. They were getting EBT at the time and as soon as he went back to work he cancelled the EBT and they never went back to the food bank. They're still behind on some bills but doing well so far. I would make extra for dinner and take them all plates of food when I could and give them stuff I wasn't going to use. Really appreciative of it.

And if you actually read your source, you'd see the dissimilarity between parents raising something else's offspring, and a male taking an abandoned family under their wing.

Main reason to get milk, is that it enables of lot of cheap cooking stuff.
Like sauces, gravy, and stuff like that.
Also you want a source of lactose, because you will become lactose intolerant in little over a year, if you don't consume it.
>>
>>9371367

I'm a poorfag on NEETbux and that's all I eat. Never get bored tho, it's all just a matter of spicing and seasoning. Splurge days mean a pizza from a local towelhead joint for 7€ (salad included) or a 350 ml vodka for 10. When you've always been like this you don't really even miss anything better.
>>
>>9378490

that's how poor people shop and why they are poor
the 10lb bag of potatoes costs $4 or they can bag their own loose ones for $1.50 per pound
they'll get the loose ones because it's "cheaper"
every damn time

no, she should find a cuck like you to provide for her lmao

aren't food stamps supposed to supplement income instead of replacing it?

I understand the reality that most live on it, but in an ideal situation you should be at your wal mart job or something and using the stamps to give you a little relief
>>
>>9380364
as opposed to what? calories and nutrients are kind of the most important thing when buying food on a budget
>>
I'm on food stamps and they give me 200 dollars a month and I don't even have kids.
>>
>>9381848
Yes. The OP pic specifically refers to a program called "SNAP". Supplemental nutrition assistance program. Emphasis on "Supplemental". This isn't even full-on "food stamps", this is another, separate, program that was never meant to pay for one's entire diet.

SNAP is food stamps you retard. The government calls it "supplemental nutrition assistance" to make it sound more palatable to the tax-paying public.
>>
>>9382135
In my state there are three different systems.
The main one is adminstered by the state.
SNAP comes from the federal government and offers a much lower amount of $, but you can get it in addition to the state program.
Then there's WIC, which is specifically for women with young children and is very limited to what you can actually purchase with it.

Use your brain before you type.

What is your genetic heritage? Have your people had a long history of consuming dairy for long periods of time? You can likely go for long stretches of time without it and be able to consume it. Other people cannot. The other anon posted a GENERAL RULE OF THUMB that has exceptions (as to all rules) to support his argument. Providing yourself as an exception doesn't invalidate his general statement. Yours was of 0 productivity.

In the first place, no one actually buys that stuff for their day to day rice needs.
Jasmine is cheaper.
