Korean supermarkets tend to have eel. Not sure about online though.

Sorry, I can't help with online sources, I buy mine from the local Asian supermarket.
As for sauces, I think you can't beat homemade. I make mine with equal parts sake, mirin, and soy sauce. Add some crushed red chilis, sliced fresh ginger, garlic cloves (smashed), and yellow rock sugar. Simmer to dissolve the sugar and then reduce until it gets thick and sticky. Strain out the solids.
>Where cheap sushi places get their eel
Probably a restaurant wholesaler like Sysco or similar.
daytime bump.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyP1TChoGzg I get bbq eel like in the vid. They always have it at my supermarket in the bags on ice. Bit pricey but it's fucking delicious. I'm too lazy to make it into sushi so I just throw it on some cooked white rice and eat it like that

Go to any decent sized Asian market, they should have them in stock in the frozen seafood aisle

that's the issue though. the only one near me *and it's 30minutes away* doesn't stock it.
