>replica kfc/popeye gravy
KFC doesn't even come close to popeyes.
I looked up a copycat recipe for the latter once, it had a ton of different ingredients and I didn't attempt it.

>water
>cornstarch
>salt
that gravy sucks ass, man. make some real gravy.
Whatever.
>package of brown powder
>water
>mix while heating
KFC gravy is literally just week-old bits of chicken and oil scraped out of the bottom of the fryer and mixed up.

What this guy said. Brown some boneless, skinless thighs in a nonstick pan. The browning is very important. The thighs will produce lots of fat in the pan. Add some flour and cook until it smells like pie crust. Then add some chicken stock and stir until it all thickens. From there it will need to simmer for around 20-30 minutes. Add a bit of flavoring (onion or garlic powder, herbs) and enjoy.

A half packet of brown gravy, a half packet of chicken gravy and a half packet of homestyle gravy. Use low/no sodium chicken stock instead of water. Enjoy.
