True story. I wasnt allowed Miracle Whip as a kid. My parents were used to classic Mayo and thought Miracle Whip was somehow associated with the drugs and domestic violence of the lower classes. We never actually discussed this but after many years of reflection, I am quite sure this is the reason.

I don't like mayo at all, regardless of brand. Shit is mostly flavorless and in my opinion actually detracts from most anything you put it on. My family swears by Duke's though. I guess it also makes a good base for other sauces, but I'll take hot sauce over mayo any day.

What exactly is miracle whip? I've never tasted it.

I make a cold salad with tuna, elbow macaroni, diced celery and onion, dash of Tabasco and dash of sesame oil... Miracle Whip has always gone better with it than mayo, for some reason.
