Never tried a Durian and don't know where to buy them around here. Are they actually good or is this a meme?

The first couple times I tried it I found the garlicy and oniony aspects to their flavor off putting, but after that I noticed them less and less. They have more fruity flavors than most fruit and a custard-like aspect to them as well. Once you've acquired the taste for them they're pretty addicting. I suggest you look for frozen durian, you should be able to find it at an Asian foods store. In my case it didn't take very long at all to acquire the taste.
