Not joking. Your body's last-ditch method of getting rid of excess glucose is to dump it out your kidneys. Some of the medications they have to treat REALLY FUCKING OUT OF CONTROL diabetes even short-circuits your glucose reuptake mechanism so that even more glucose gets dumped out through your kidneys.

And yes, it's a little bit of a disgusting way to test it (unless you're into watersports) but it's an instant test that doesn't require any planning or expense.

Or you can go to a pharmacy and buy a meter and test strips for about US$50.
