Please help /ck/ i'm so hungry. How do I pan sear a steak?

put steak in a pan and sear it

Butter/Oil mix in pan, mid heat
Put steak in at room temperature when pan hot
DONT FUCKING TOUCH IT FOR 5 MINUTES
Flip
Add chopped garlic and rosemary
Baste fats over top of steak for 5 additional minutes
Pull and let rest under lose tin foil for an additional 10 minutes

dry it off
salt it
pepper it
turn pan on to mid-high
let the pan get real hot
throw in some oil
throw in steak
let it sit, don't touch it for like 3-5 minutes
check underside -- if it isn't brown and crusty, keep it on for a bit longer
flip steak
throw in a pat of butter
baste melted butter/fat over steak with a spoon
let the fucker cook for another couple of minutes
take off
let sit
carve up
put in mouth
