Can you use vegetable gravy granules to make vegetable stock for soup?
I tried googling it and I can't get past a discussion of soup vs broth.
I've made a cup of boiling water and put vegetable gravy granules in it and then I drank that but I don't know if it tasted like gravy or stock because I don't really know what stock is.
you can make a gravy out of any liquid that has flavor. Vegetable stock can work.
Whatever you thicken the stock with will change the flavor a slight bit.
What are you going to thicken the stock with ?
Roux ? Cornstarch ?

Stock is just a flavoring, you can switch it out for any sort of liquid when making a soup or stew. Try using it like you would bouillon; 1 teaspoon = 1 cube, 1 cube in a cup of water, so a recipe that calls for 4-6 cups of stock would use 1-2 tablespoons of granules.
Start out with the bare minimum though, you can always add more later.
