I was wondering why there aren´t any cheese general threads here.
I´ve been lurking the last ones but they always go to the archive fast so why not try a general for discussion, rating, opinions, webs to buy, etc...
Pic related is one of my favourites and it only takes 2hours to buy a fresh one from Villaluenga.
Please post. Id like to learn about cheese that doesnt come in individually wrapped, limp slices.

Best way to learn is simply to try them. There's a massive different variety of cheeses out there with a wide range of textures and flavors. When you're a cheese noob then pretty much everything is a new learning experience.
If you have certain types of cheese that you like then post and we can recommend others that have similar characteristics.

Parrano, jarlsberg, romano, provolone, gouda, brie, bleu
I live in usa so local cheese is extremely costly

There´s pic related that actually makes a vague distinction about the main ones, quite a bit weird since it lacks a lot of common ones in order to introduce the artisan ones, but still quite good imo.
