Hi there. I am going to be posting this thread on both /ck/ and /fit/.
I am looking for your favorite healthy recipes that can be made on a budget. I'm looking to keep my daily caloric intake at or under 1200, and I usually eat two times a day.
Anyone have any suggestions or favorites?

chicken served with rice, carrots, and celery
fried rice keeps better but steamed rice can be preserved through adding rice vinigar

/fit/ is the absolute worst thing to happen to this board, including Ja/ck/.
I usually do a meat-green veg-starch or meat-green veg-mushroom combination for my meals, I can keep it around 1200 but you won't get a lot of variety unless you've got a lot of herbs and spices on hand.
For this week I did:
>3 days worth of chicken breast pan seared in olive oil, seasoned with s&p and chili powder, mushrooms seasoned the same way and seared in the leftover fond; asparagus and broccoli tossed in olive oil, black pepper, and worcestershire sauce. Each meal = about 550 calories
>2 days worth of garlic shrimp sauteed with jalapenos, served over grits. Each meal: about 600 calories
Honestly when I'm dieting I eat like shit to curb cravings.
Favorite thing to make is a fried egg and cheese sandwich. Use American cheese, low cal bread, and butter spray to make it 200 calories. I'll eat things like that and fish, fruit, coffee, open faced tomato sandwiches (150 calories for one) with salt and basil flakes, grilled vegetables, oatmeal with 2% milk, just generally anything really fatty will keep me satiated.
Here is my absolute favorite health low calorie recipe OP.
>take vegetables
>put in steamer
>steam until done
>finish them with whatever
>eat
It might be a bit advanced but after a few tries I'm sure you can do it too!
