Is this purely a meme or should I shell out actual quiche for this?
Before I answer your question, I'd like to know where I can trade quiche for cookbooks

It is a pretty autistically written cookbook, and very useful for reference and inspiration, although not worth the money. Pdf scans exist for a reason. Get the el bulli scan while yr at it

I think it's well worth the money. The information it contains on just about any cooking situation is god-tier. It's well organized and all in one place. I learned a fuckload from reading it. Compared to what I spent on college textbooks the value for money is far far superior.
But that depends on if you are going to learn from it and/or keep it around for reference. If you're just going to look at the pretty pictures or want to use it as a "list of recipes" then I doubt it will be worth your money.

Joy of cooking is a good starting point for recipes IMO.

Joy of cooking is great if you want a list of simple recipes.
MC is when you want to understand the science behind how cooking works.
It's like comparing highschool home ec class with graduate studies. Different tools for different jobs.
it's probably on bookz, i don't know why you'd pay for a cookbook

I have a friend who bought it. It's a stunning piece of work. I'm more of a home cook, so I would never buy it. But my buddy is a major nerd who cooks more restaurant style food and is really into the technique, science and gear. He was cooking sous vide in 2010, has a manual espresso machine and cures his own meat. For a guy like him these books are a treasure trove of knowledge.

Pirating is not an admirable and should not be used, but it is as it is.
