I live in Folsom, Pa where the first Wawa opened and like one anon said, it used to be good but it's dropped in quality. And it's fucking annoying because WaWa is like an annoying culture meme in my town. We literally have atleast 5 fucking gas station wawas in like a 2 mile radius

In some parts of PA and NJ Wawa becomes the de facto town square - the place where locals hang and catch up with each other. This inspires a level of affection for the place that you wouldn't expect a gas station and convenience store to inspire. The hoagies might not be as good as they used to be, but they're still better than what you find at most chain places. If those are your only options you're likely to become a fan of Wawa.

If you stopped at some other gas station (or a fucking Subway) for a sandwich on that drive then yes, you missed out. While you can get a better hoagie at an average supermarket deli counter in Philly Wawa does pretty well for a small town gas station.
