Great breakfast, delicious and very filling for a cheap price. You can get an amazing torta de tamal for less than a dollar.
Just gotta find a good stand, pick your favorite flavor and you are set. Most stands also sell coffee, atole and/or champurrado, so for a full dollar you got yourself a nice breakfast and a delicious hot beverage.

La torta de chilaquiles con milanesa es mejor

We have a street food similar to this in chicago called a mother-in-law that's a tamale on a hotdog bun. The contrast in texture and taste between the cornmeal and white bread is great enough that it works, despite being a redundant carb bomb on paper.
