Does (and how does) /ck/ use iodized salt?
Is there a noticeable difference in taste?

I stopped using table salt after I discovered kosher salt. It just tastes better.

have you noticed any iodine deficiency effects?

Just in case you never looked it up, Iodine deficiency used to be a massive issue in the US because people would eat mostly local crops which might not have had enough Iodine. So they had salt refiners start adding it in as a supplement. That's all, you use it like you would any salt of its grain size. If there is any taste difference it would be greatly overpowered by the, you know, pure salt.

Kosher salt and table salt are the same thing, just in different grain sizes.

Grain size has an effect on taste. I use iodised rock salt in my grinder

So is iodine deficiency not an issue much any longer? I don't eat solely local vegetables. I got it because of that exact reason, worrying about iodine deficiency. Thank you for your help.
Who cares about taste? All salt tastes salty. Eat it for the iodine, it works perfectly well for baking or table salt.
Deficiency is still a problem, just downplayed. Ideally you would be buying some lugol's and dripping that into your drinks.

Not that guy, but I cook with iodized salt because I don't eat any processed food. I still use sea salt or rock salt as a finishing salt at the table though since the particle size makes it taste different.

I use it to soak my feet in before I cut my big toenails.
