Anyone drink their own/homemade kefir?
Worth making?
I started drinking a brand that had a very fizzy and complex kefir drink but it was expensive and was recently stopped being sold and now all I can get is overpriced kefir that tastes like slightly fizzy diluted yoghurt so I figured I should make it myself. Not sure which is more representative of true kefir though.

I'm assuming this is not popcorn and infact the fizzy yoghurt I'd see in the local Turkish store back when I was a student. Lots of crazy looking food in that store.
Bought some once to see what it was about. Pretty much fizz yoghurt. -10/10 would not even look at again.

Tried it once and it was awful. Had the texture of semen and tasted like a big mac smoothie at best. Maybe I got bad stones, or maybe I fucked up by using a pickle jar, but either way it sucked.

Had you drunk store bought kefir before you made it yourself?
If so how did the two compare?
Also if anyone has drunken similar drinks such as kombucha or water 'kefir', what's your opinion on drinking/making them?
With all these fermented milk drinks the homemade version is considered the only "real" version. But if you've never made kefir before you'll probably fuck it up, not that it's hard to make. Also you don't like kefir, you're just pretending to like it to seem cultured.

I'm slavic and I love kefir, I used to drink it by the bottle.

Yep. My batch was ever so slightly fizzy. That was about all the commonality.
